Name: Sovor. Age: 98. Race: Dunmer. Gender: Male. Starsign: The Serpent. Birthplace: Somewhere in the Ash Wastes of Morrowind. Appearance: Standing at just under six feet, Sovor is of average height and build for a male Dunmer. His skin is ashen gray, predictably enough, and his eyes bright, scarlet red. Sovor wears his black hair tied up behind his head in a traditional Dunmer hairstyle and his face is marked with Ashlander tattoos. More evidence that points to his tribal background are the two earrings he has in both of his pointed ears. He has some mild scarring on his body from years of hard living; the most significant permanent injury is the loss of two fingers, his ring and middle finger, on his left hand. He has little regard for the life, limb and property of strangers, something that frequently gets him into trouble. Backstory: Born to nomadic Ashlanders in the ashen wastes of Vvardenfell, Sovor grew up in tough conditions. His tribe, the Urshilaku, were persecuted by the Tribunal at every turn and subsequently forced to exist as far away from civilization as possible. Sovor displayed a natural talent for magic and swordplay, learning the traditional Destruction and Mysticism practiced by the Ashlanders as well as their distinctive martial arts; a fluid, elusive fighting style that emphasized avoiding injury above anything else. An infected wound out in the Ashlands could spell certain death. He witnessed the rise of the Nerevarine, being present when his tribe's Wise Woman put the aspirant Nerevarine through the Seven Trials of the prophecy. Sovor, intrigued by the outlander, decided to leave Vvardenfell after Dagoth Ur was defeated and the Tribunal disappeared. The Temple was still desperately clinging to power but they no longer had the resources to spare to persecute the Ashlanders; as such, Sovor was free to go where he pleased. Feeling the call of adventure and freedom, he traveled south to Seyda Neen and sought passage to the mainland of Morrowind. From there, Sovor has traveled across large swaths of Tamriel, frequently getting into (and out of) trouble with the local authorities for his disdain for Imperial law. In Black Marsh, Sovor lost two of his fingers to a vengeful Argonian who wanted his Hist sap back. After more than a decade of this kind of life, Sovor has ended up in the Imperial Prison. He has been sentenced for three counts of burglary and one count of manslaughter -- he attempted to subdue a confrontational homeowner in Cheydinhal who caught Sovor in the act of robbing his house, but accidentally ended up killing him. Skills: Having lived off the land for decades in the Ashlands, Sovor is an expert when it comes to wilderness survival. He knows which plants and berries are edible and which are dangerous, how to create potions to cure diseases or poison weapons and how to stalk and kill a wild animal. He prefers to use one-handed longswords as weapons, though the thinner and lighter the better, and augments this with various Destruction spells; mostly fire-based, or spells that directly damage health. Sovor considers heavy armor an unnecessary burden and will use medium and light armor wherever possible. He also knows a little about Mysticism, namely spells that detect nearby life, move objects remotely and deflect or dispel the effects of magic. Sovor grew up in a society where money had little value and, as a result, is terrible at managing his septims. This has created a necessity for skills like sneaking, pickpocketing and lockpicking, though he hasn't quite gotten the hang of these yet; hence his recent capture. Extra: Sovor is certainly not unintelligent but has significant trouble with reading. In modern times he would have been diagnosed with severe dyslexia.
