Except we're not considering the prerequisites of some systematic study of demonology. The Bible clearly says that fortune telling is an abomination. "... anyone who practises divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens... is an abomination to the Lord." (Those ellipses are just there to shorten the text; it just lists a couple more things.)
