[b]THE MULTIVERSE.[/b] For thousands of years, it was kept in check by an inter-dimensional council, made up of seven of the strongest beings in known fiction, meeting frequently in a pocket dimension to discuss how to go about governing and to discuss other political issues. With their guidance and ultimate decisions, they eventually created what was known as the [b]MULTIVERSAL REPUBLIC[/b], which kept peace, order, and justice throughout the worlds it ruled. It was what many people believe to have been the golden years of the [b]MULTIVERSE[/b], the best of times. However, despite how peaceful it was, it would certainly not last forever...

Under a highly coordinated attack, the [b]MULTIVERSAL COUNCIL[/b] was attacked by an unknown enemy alliance, known as the [b]REGIN OF CHAOS[/b]. The members tried to protect the Palace and push out the invaders, causing massive casualties on their side. But unfortunately for them, they were eventually overwhelmed by the intense numbers of troops that were invading and were forced to go into hiding. Of the seven members that fought in “The Sacking of the Council”, only four had survived, with the other three, including the head council member, eventually fading into obscurity. Now the [b]MULTIVERSE[/b] has fallen into the hands of an evil tyranny and all hope has seemed to be lost.

However, after 40 years of tyrannical oppression, one group manages to stand out where others had ultimately failed. Known simply as [b]THE RESISTANCE[/b], this group of freedom fighters has vowed to take the reins of the remnants of the fallen republic and free the [b]MULTIVERSE[/b] from the hands of the evil [b]REGIN OF CHAOS[/b]. And slowly, bit by bit, they are gaining more allies towards their cause...

Welcome to Multiverse At War! This is the sister RP to the Multiverse Rising RP originally created by [@Punished Homura] (which also happens to be now managed by me due to said GM's absence). This RP can be considered to be a remake of the mother RP, with new characters, new factions, a better/simpler plot, and more organized. Both newcomers and old are all welcomed to join, though I do recommend different characters if one comes from the mother RP (you can have 2 returning characters).

Currently, you can join two default factions. The good guys being in The Resistance (yes, its very Star Wars-y Ik) and the bad guys being in the Reign of Chaos. You can always make your own faction if you so want to, weather siding more on the good, the bad, or simply aligning themselves to their own agenda. The choice is yours! For traveling amongst the vast multiverse, members that align themselves to a multiversal faction will receive a beacon that can open a terminal and allow you to escape back to the HQ of said faction. Unfortunately, said button after revealing terminal will ultimately dissipate and the terminal will only be active for 10 seconds until ultimately dissipating. However, those with teleportation powers are excluded from having them, as they already have their means to travel through the multiverse anyways.

[h1][b]Rules[/b][/h1][/center]

The rules are pretty simple, but in case your new or need a refresher, here's the deal:

[b]1).[/b] Respect the GM (me), the Co-GMs, and everyone else thats participating in the RP. My word in particular is final. If you have any problems, please contact me in the PM.

[b]2).[/b] Be fair. Don't issue any bunny-modding ([i]taking control of one's character[/i]), god-modding ([i]having your character do whatever and whenever they want[/i]), meta-gaming ([i]have said character know every single thing about their opponent's movements and attacks[/i]), autohitting ([i]performing an action without giving the affected players a chance to respond[/i]) and the like towards a person's character. This rule doesn't apply to NPCs however.

[b]3).[/b] If you want to make a character, PLEASE post it in the OCC for review. If the character is accepted, migrate it to the Characters thread. You can make as many characters as you want, for there's no limit, and OCs are permitted. If your character has been accepted and you want to change something yourself, let me and the Co-Gms' know before implementing it.

[b]4).[/b] Limit highly powerful characters and don't create Mary-sues ([i]perfect characters[/i]). While I can allow high-tier characters in the RP ([i]such as leaders and in major positions[/i]), do not base the whole RP around with like Superman-tier, Apocalypse-tier, and other powerful characters of that magnitude. I can allow nerfs to them, but again, keep it fair. I also don't want any asspulls, which is basically creating characters either poorly made or one made specifically to counter something that's bothering you. If something is bothering you, tell said player or me for suggestions on how to counter it.

[b]5).[/b] No one liners. This is a Casual - High-Casual RP, so I'd like to see a minimum of one or two well-made paragraphs. More is much appreciated. 

[b]6).[/b] If you haven't been around the RP for at least two weeks, we can assume that you've dropped out. If you plan on dropping out, or won't be able to be on for a week or more, please let us know when we should expect you to come back. You are always welcomed to return if you decide to come back.

[b]7).[/b] No sexual content. Kissing, hugging, and other romantic stuff like that is fine, but please don't go to the bedroom and go to work! Keep that to the PM and away from the public eye, for your safety and ours. That being said, I'm cool with appropriate levels of swearing and gore, just don't overdo it.

[b]8).[/b] While not exactly a rule, just a heads up that not everything should, and perhaps will, be railroaded ([i]basically if you have a plan or plot, don't expect all of it to go your way[/i]). Try to be flexible in the way that you RP and expect a few surprises along the way. Find a way to make that event fit if you can.

Once just a simple messenger of the Multiversal Council, Prometheus was given the powers of a "God" and was tasked to rally the Multiverse against the abominable Reign of Chaos. While considered to be a descent leader back in the early years, overtime has has grown wiser and more confident, giving his men the hope and the courage to fight on till the very end. He is also highly respected by even the most powerful of allies and shines terror into the hearts of evil.[/center]

For the most dangerous and vital of missions, only the Special-Ops forces are capable of completing it successfully. Comprised of four of the best heroes and warriors in the Resistance, the Special-Ops dive head-first into places where no one else can, usually behind enemy lines. Their superior training, gadgets, and their special abilities, make them some of the more powerful units in the Resistance. They can either be deployed alone or in a full squad, which varies depending on the mission.[/center]

[center]The lieutenants are the backbone of the Resistance's military officers. While not as powerful as the High-Command's generals, they still hold a certain level of authority and are usually the ones on the front lines or overseeing a scientific or building project. However, depending on what they command, some are more powerful in some areas compared to others. More gifted and powerful individuals are also placed as a lieutenant rank, as well has either housing resources or even a specific talent that serves as a powerful ally for the cause at hand.[/center]

The Resistance are allied with various organizations and armies across the Multiverse. This was accomplished either by freeing their universes or being recognized by other organizations who decided to join their cause. They receive major multiversal support and they're slowly gaining more and more allies to help fight against the Reign of Chaos.[/center]

As the Reign of Chaos began to clamp down and conquer other universes, many rebellions were ignited in order to combat the invaders. However, all of them had failed, either being utterly massacred or falling apart from within. Yet there was one that managed to succeed where others had failed. The Council messenger, Prometheus, now having the powers of a god, had formed a multiversal rebellion, comprised of various universes around the multiverse. While they had a rough beginning, enough that there were talks of disbanding, they then began to strike back and learn from their mistakes, which provided them more and more victories. They even freed several universes, who in turn provided their aid against the Reign.

Currently they have been a thorn in the Reign's side, yet they need more allies and perhaps stronger weapons if they want to assure the opposing faction's defeat...[/center]

[center]Leader of the Reign of Chaos. Nyx is the evil twin sister of Prometheus, who had once walked in her brother's shadow. Corrupted by jealously and the lust for power, Nyx created her own organization and took over the Council, ultimately plunging the multiverse into chaos and disarray. She is feared for her dark and powerful powers, which almost match those of a goddess. She is a brilliant strategist and no easy target for one to due battle. She is one that both her enemies and allies fear the most and for good reason.[/center]

Nyx's direct subordinates and those who hold the most power among the Reign of Chaos. They are the people whom the leader trusts the most whether it is by personal relations or what they have accomplished, including their abilities. By status, they hold authority over every member, and this includes the Elite Guards unless under crisis. There are generally only two positions here and they are arguably some of the most powerful positions to hold within the faction.

Possibly the most mysterious branch of the Reign of Chaos, the Elite Guard are made up of four of the best individuals in the faction, outdoing the strongest member of the group out of the rank. Their identities are kept secret to those under Executive rank due to the immense tactical advantage they present. Although their primary focus is to insure the survival of Nyx, they are all capable of conducting their own missions if the hierarchy deems it fit.[/center]

Executives are those who have demonstrated their value to the Reign of Chaos and hold a certain level of authority over all others under them. However the weight of their word varies greatly, and can very well be put under certain subordinates despite their status, or some may even have more impact than the Head Executives under certain conditions. For most powerful or unique individuals recruited in the Multiverse, they're put as Executive. Many have accessed this position by having a large potential in power but also by the resources they hold or even a specific talent that serves as a powerful asset.

As a power-hungry Empire, the Reign of Chaos has been expanding ever since they overthrew the Council. Thanks to this, they are able to obtain enormous quantities of resources and special military 'branches' to achieve their goals and terminate anyone who gets in their way. Most of these armed forces are led by Executives of the Reign, however some remain completely secret as they are under the Elite Guards' rule.

The Reign of Chaos was formed in secret by Prometheus's twin sister, Nyx. Tired of living under her brother's shadow, and with an unquenchable lust for power, she met with multiple factions that she was familiar with, which would become her Elite-Guards, and created a massive army. Their first mission was to cut the head of the Council, by sacking their universe mercilessly. It was a hard battle, even when fighting 7 of the most powerful beings in the multiverse. Eventually she won, but with dire casualties. She also missed her opportunity to kill her brother, but alas she won the battle and now had control over the entire multiverse.

Overtime, she had conquered many universes, and rapidly gaining more and more organizations to ally with her. Her multiversal empire is a force to be reckoned with and has the power to achieve her goals. However, only one thing stands in her way...
