I'd have to know more about this friend if I were to make that call. There doesn't seem to be significant reference to a Land of Dragons friend in his bio. But other than that, I mean, the Keyblade War would have yielded many infamous individuals anyways. Yuande would have been certain to provide a general word of caution to Shalin before she ventured out, but probably wouldn't have referenced anyone in particular.
