Viltez chuckles lightly to himself at his guest's hasty response, but stifles it in the face of his obvious discomfort. “It is nice to meet you Mister Aryx.” he says with a kind smile before returning to his work. “And don't worry, I don't think customs here are all that different from up river, though you did forget to do a hand stand after entering my house.” Pausing for only a couple seconds he turns his head with a laugh. Before his guest can honestly question the validity of his statement he says, “I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Please don't mind my teasing.” He tilts his head with a wide smile. “You just seem so uncomfortable, I thought I'd lighten to mood.” He returns to cooking and after a few minutes serves the food out on to plates. Turning her sets one plate on the table for his guest before moving around to the other side and taking a seat on the floor. The fire is warm on his back, fighting off the little bit of chill left over from the rain. Pouring himself a cup of tea he smiles up at Aryx. “I hope you like it. It's just some of my sweet vegetables, fried, with a light drizzle of some melted sugar and caramel.” He hangs his head a bit shamefully. “I'm sorry, I haven't had the chance to shop for meats lately, so we're stuck with fruits and veggies for now.” He smiles back up at the taller man, “But you said you liked sweet, so I hope this is good.” with a cheers motion with his teacup he takes a sip before digging in. Living alone for so long, he hasn't really learned mush in the way of manners when eating, but he does keep himself from smacking. Drops of the topping drip down his chin on occasion but he uses his fingers to scoop them up, licking his fingers clean afterward. “So, up river huh? I hear the fishing up there is really good.” He murmurs, trying to think of something to talk about. “I've heard a few people passing through talking about a big beautiful lake with a shrine or something.” His gaze gets a little far way as he tries to imagine it. “The water is crystal blue and full of fish that make it look like gemstones moving in tandem beneath the surface. They say the air is so fresh and clean up there. . .” His voice trails off before he snaps out of it with a faintly embarrassed look. “Oh, sorry, I'm sure you know all about it up there, being from there.” Looking down at his food he stabs it a few times. 'I bet it's pretty obvious I'm alone most of the time. I keep basically talking to myself, even with someone here to talk to. I should let him talk a bit' Putting back on his smile he looks to Aryx, motioning at him with his fork. “So, is there anything you'd like to know? I have lived here for some time so I can tell you a lot about the area.”
