He has quite a few of them, the most notable of them being an inch or two under his right eye, stretching from the top of his ear, and another, smaller one cutting vertically through the eyebrow. Both of them were from a fight he’d gotten into a couple years back, where he ended up with the pointy end of a broken bottle to the face. The surface of his skin is peppered with a maze of tiny battle scars, most of them souvenirs from his time in the military.

Persona
Sexuality: Bisexual Personality: Anyone who knows Abel knows that what you see is what you get. He’s never been the type to hide behind shrouds of mystery, of games and manipulation to get what he wants. He was raised to be a straight shooter, and while he knows the importance of lying and putting on a facade in the business world, he has no respect for those who do it in real life. Although he isn’t purposely malicious, he does have an explosive temper when crossed. He’s the kind of person who would rather start throwing punches than hash things out, and nothing pisses him off more than when he thinks he’s being lied to or being manipulated. The first thing most people see when meeting Abel is his spirit. He’s always been an energetic one, full of life and personality, almost to a fault. The guy is, by nature, extremely impulsive, both in the things he does and the things he says. As far as he's concerned, life's too short to sit around let shit just happen, it’s all about the now, and how you handle the people and things that surround you. While Abel might not be the wisest, nor the most knowledgeable, he’s a good judge of character, and it takes little time for him to classify a person. Not one to open up right away, he prefers to keep everyone at arm’s length until he has no other choice but to let them get close. Though when he truly does take an interest in something (or someone), he puts all of himself into it, and momentarily forgets about almost everything else. He’s very often obsessive about the things he does, and the people he chooses to follow. He’s quick-witted, able to think incredibly fast on his feet. Consequences, both long and short term, never escape his perception. There isn’t a moment he acts without having thought about it twice. A clear, concise plan always erupts in his mind before he has the ability to stop it. That being said, however, he has his father’s temper. He’s never been one to back down from a fight, even one he knows he’ll lose. Loyalty is something he values greatly, and has very little patience for apathy and unwarranted snark. As far as he’s concerned, if you’re going to be a dick, at least be funny about it. Despite being born in Johannesburg, he spent the majority of his childhood and adolescence travelling from continent to continent, all thanks to his parents’ work as diplomatic translators. They never stayed in one place too long, and wherever they went, he was met with the task of carving a social niche for himself; with some finding it hard to see past his heritage. Abel’s father was of Dutch ancestry, while his mother was Guatemalan. In the eyes of others, this marked him as an outsider, and the fact that he was always the new kid in class didn’t help in the slightest. Sure, they might’ve led a comfortable middle-class existence, but Abel had to learn early on to deal with the jeers and insults of mean-spirited schoolmates. Years later, after they settled down in Novosibirsk, Russia, Abel decided to enlist. To say that it took everyone by surprise would be an understatement. After all, he’d never had the best track record with following orders, getting into bloody fistfights over the most trivial of matters, but was that really so surprising? Shipping out seemed like the best option for someone like Abel, who’d only graduated high school through the skin of his teeth, report cards scrawled with disapproving comments about his “aggression and rough-housing”. How he passed the initial psychological testing was a mystery to him. The first few months were rough, but he sucked it up and worked through it. Hell, even the red-faced, stick-up-their-asses sergeants screaming into his ear all the livelong day he got used to. But it wasn’t until after Abel’s first tour in Chechnya that he got a real taste of combat. Abel and his company weren’t Spetsnaz, not by a long shot, and he counts himself lucky that it was the case. Every single day, it was the same thing. Russian soldiers, roaming - terrified and deadly - through the darkened foliage. The explosions of violence whenever two living things encountered each other were bloody in the way that happened only out of desperate self-preservation. Strike first and ask questions later - that was the untold rule they all adhered to. He could get used to the cold, the rain, and even the noises that filled the forest at night, but never having anything solid against his back was driving him crazy. And then, just like that, Abel and his company were recalled. They wasted no time in shipping them back to Russia, perhaps deciding to save their troops for more urgent engagements in the future. Abel would never admit it, but he was secretly grateful to be back within the country’s borders. Of course, as luck would have it, Abel was just about done readjusting to civilian life when Argus rang him up. He’d heard vague whisperings of the organisation, but it was only then that he realised how great their reach was. After learning about his fluency in various languages (English, Afrikaans, Spanish, Russian, etc.) and the skills he’d acquired in the military, it was easy enough for them to get ahold of Abel. He’s seen him in action, and he knows just how efficiently he completes his missions, but he just can’t seem to get a good read on the guy. He never knows what he’s thinking, what’s he’s going to do, and to be quite honest, it’s a little intimidating. While Elijah might be slow to antagonise, and even slower to anger, Abel can’t help but liken Elijah to a ticking time-bomb. You don’t know when it’s going to explode, but one thing’s for sure - it’s going to be a mess of blood, guts, and shattered bones.

☮ Greta Kohler ☮
---

☠ Minami Yuuna ☠
---

⚜ Rucks Kennithson ⚜
Rucks can be frustrating - infuriating, even - but after the time they’ve spent working together, Abel has grown somewhat accustomed to his ways. Without a doubt, Rucks is great at what he does, though Abel would sooner be dead than admit it out loud. Outside of work, however, he doesn’t know a whole lot about the guy, apart from a few superficialities. While one might assume that their clashing personalities and backgrounds would cause more than a few problems, they do work rather well together; though Abel isn’t quite sure about Rucks’ usage of motivational taunting.

☠ Oliver Gandell ☠
There’s only one word that Abel can use to describe Oliver: superficial. Maybe it’s his manner, how he speaks, or even his blinding, million-watt smile – but the guy just rubs him the wrong way. Abel often finds himself put off by people like Oliver, even if they do actually mean well. Honesty is something that Abel values greatly, so suffice to say he finds it more than a little unnerving when someone puts on such an ostentatious facade. Granted, he hasn’t really taken the time to get to know Oliver better, but as far as first impressions go, he just can’t seem to find in him the kind of trustworthiness he appreciates.

⚜ Dorian Peters ⚜
Dorian can be gruff and a stickler for detail, but Abel thinks they get along well enough. His brand of solid, no-nonsense loyalty is something he can respect, though it also helps that he isn’t put off by his rather blunt manner of speech. More than anything else, the relationship between the two can best be described as ‘professional’, with neither of them expecting too much from the other, apart from the occasional (alcohol and substance free) hang out.
