"Thanks mom, see you!" Arjun ran off, grateful that his mother didn't get more annoyed by his little toy. Adjusting his loincloth, he made it downstairs just as the other students were filing into the classrooms. He noticed a little halfling boy in the crowd, a rather small specimen, even for one of his species. He walked behind the boy for a moment, wanting to meet him. His father encouraged this sort of thing, especially with the newer orphans. "Hi there! Oh, sorry. Did I startle you? I-uh... don't believe that we've met. You're new here, right? I'm Arjun, the headmaster's son. You know, Serapis. That big dragon guy. Yeah. So, uh, what's your name?" ---------------- "Magic? You know I'm not really good for much more than sparks when it comes to that" Aurelian sighed. "But maybe I could look up something real quick before lunch in one of those spell books." He overheard Kia's words. "“Actually,” Kia turned to face them. She took a couple slow steps backward, then stopped, her voice low as she continued. “Make sure Greentail’s closer to the center of the room come lunch. It’ll make things easier to give the lizard his just desserts. Well, at least I’d think it would for Nick, wouldn’t it?" "Hmm, I think I can do that. Yeah" Aurelian replied, a little smile creeping onto his face. A minute later, they were entering their classroom, which was appropriate for their age and grade level. The older and younger orphans went to their own rooms, which were similarly appropriate for them. These particular classes were coeducational, but some of the others were for males or females only. Jorn sat down next to a young dracon on one of the cushions used at the orphanage in place of seats. Luckily for him, Laura chose to sit somewhere else, much closer to the other girls.
