I built my character around magical buffs in the hope I would be wrong about this assumption and that raw grit would have any merit.

If I am wrong, than j8cob's character shouldn't exist (Sorry to sell ya down the river, but a conventional pistol versus a vamp?). I don't watch anime like those and assumed 'anime elements' involved comedic interactions, tense combat and 'unsung heroes'.
This is not what I thought the thread was. I am set up for what this thread [i]is[/i], but the answers for my old questions leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm not a fan of "Magic girl" threads.
