That demi-god nonsense only works in Percy Jackson.

There's plenty of shows and even legends in which normal humans have fought magical beings or even gods and won. Even in Greek myth, Odysseus was a normal human who [i]pissed off Poseidon[/i], and he still came out on top. He killed a bunch of monsters and went on all sorts of adventures.
