In a singular moment the trio was gone, just as the police arrived to canvas the scene they were teleported into an utterly massive library of sorts. Rows and rows of books alongside tables filled to the brim with otherworldly artifacts some stacked with teetering piles of books miles high strewn about haphazardly. In this magical place where eyeballs blinked from the inside of jars and teeth from unknown beings lay in dishes Merlin stood before Eva her weight shifted to her right leg with her haughty attitude shining through. 

“[color=92278f]Well[/color]. [color=92278f]I can’t say you haven’t trained her[/color],  [color=92278f]she’ll need more experience however before she’s to take on bigger threats[/color].”

“[color=00aeef]Bigger how[/color]?” Eva chimed in curiously.

Merlin smirked as she walked over to a telescope. “[color=92278f]You can’t see it from here[/color], b[color=92278f]ut a battle of gods is taking place in this solar system[/color]. G[color=92278f]ods with the power to destroy your little world here[/color]. [color=92278f]One day soon they may well decide upon doing just that when this world bores them[/color].”

“[color=00aeef]Gods[/color], [color=00aeef]literal gods[/color]? [color=00aeef]As in God almighty[/color]?” Merlin lingered for a moment as she smiled at her comment.”[color=92278f]More or less I suppose[/color]. [color=92278f]The Thorian Thrasher was but a test[/color], [color=92278f]while you do hold potential you lack the means to defend this world from greater threats[/color], [color=92278f]that’s why I brought you here[/color]. W[color=92278f]ell not entirely[/color]. [color=92278f]I don’t have what you need here, but from this place you can go where you are required[/color].”

“[color=00aeef]How exactly[/color]? D[color=00aeef]on’t tell me more teleportation[/color].. [color=00aeef]Great[/color].” Eva said with little enthusiasm in her voice. “[color=92278f]Yes[/color], [color=92278f]and No[/color]. Y[color=92278f]ou won’t be teleporting the doors will[/color].” Merlin strode over to a doorway with a table with sturdy legs and a globe centered within a set of rings with increments etched into the rings. “[color=92278f]This place is anchored to a real Library[/color]. [color=92278f]That New York place[/color].” 

“[color=00aeef]Wait[/color].” Eva said in surprise. “[color=00aeef]You don’t mean the New York public library[/color].” 

“[color=92278f]That’s the one[/color].” 

“[color=00aeef]You can’t use the library as your home[/color], [color=00aeef]that’s like Illegal right[/color]? [color=00aeef]And dangerous[/color]!” 

“[color=92278f]I’m not using it[/color], [color=92278f]only a door inside of it[/color]. [color=92278f]It’s not like anyone can enter no matter how hard they try[/color]. [color=92278f]Peasants don’t have that kind of power[/color]. [color=92278f]But you[/color]. [color=92278f]You’ll be able to come and go from here as you please[/color]. [color=92278f]All you need is this ring[/color], [color=92278f]and you can access the door here from anywhere[/color]. [color=92278f]And using this globe here you can travel to any place that has a door[/color].”

Eva looked towards Merlin suspiciously. “[color=00aeef]That’s kinda convenient isn’t it[/color]? [color=00aeef]So why am I getting this feeling of unease[/color]?”

“[color=92278f]There’s nothing to worry about[/color]. [color=92278f]If you were to experience any temporal disturbances from gateway shifts it would be almost harmless[/color].”

[color=00aeef]“What[/color]!? [color=00aeef]Mostly harmless[/color]. [color=00aeef]What’s the other dangers then[/color]?”

“[color=92278f]Oh[/color].” Merlin exclaimed. “[color=92278f]Just nausea[/color], [color=92278f]vomiting[/color], [color=92278f]dismemberment and death[/color]. [color=92278f]To name a few minor side effects[/color].” 

“[color=00aeef]Minor[/color]. [color=00aeef]Riight[/color]. [color=00aeef]So death is a minor thing for you good to know[/color]. [color=00aeef]So what now[/color]. [color=00aeef]I step through and can go[/color], [color=00aeef]what anywhere[/color]?”

Merlin shrugged. “[color=92278f]You can[/color]. [color=92278f]But there’s no point really[/color], [color=92278f]not unless you like traveling[/color]. [color=92278f]For now this Lost Haven is where you’ll find this Pax Metahumana Criminal[/color], [color=92278f]go ahead step through the door[/color]. [color=92278f]You have much to learn[/color]..”

Arthur having kept quiet as he floated about mumbled under his breath. “[color=aba000]I’ll just be over here then[/color]. [color=aba000]Keeping busy[/color].. [color=aba000]I think[/color].”

Eva cautiously spun the globe several times as she kept over shooting her destination to Merlin’s distain.”[color=92278f]Do you not know basic geography[/color]? [color=92278f]These Schools[/color]. [color=92278f]Do they not teach those things[/color]..” 

“[color=00aeef]SHUT IT[/color]! [color=00aeef]I[/color].. [color=00aeef]I know what I’m doing[/color]. [color=00aeef]Bloody hell[/color]. [color=00aeef]I don’t need your[/color]..” With a snap of Merlin’s fingers the globe stopped suddenly on Lost Haven as the door inside the frame shifted form to represent the door in the world.  “[color=00aeef]Help[/color].” Eva said as her spirit sank. “[color=00aeef]FINE[/color]! [color=00aeef]I’ll just go find this Villain then[/color], [color=00aeef]at least that doesn’t involve your help[/color].” She said as she stepped through the doorway and onto the Streets as she drew a few odd looks. As she looked about she realized why they were staring. She just walked out of a Strip Club. “[color=00aeef]That Bitch[/color].” Throwing her hoodie over her head she strolled down the street trying to vacate the area as soon as possible.
