Personality:  He's a bit scatter-brained.  He stayed with his parent's commune until they kicked him out, but he's still not sure what he really want's to focus on it life.  He's good with machines and electronics, though, so he decided to advertise himself as an Engineer and Mechanic when he needed to find a new commune.

History:  He was born on Mars in an artificial womb, as women were too scarce on Mars at that time, and his father too poor to attract one for a natural birth.  After the doctor removed him from the canister he was given to his father, who took him back to his commune to be raised by the group.  Eventually another woman joined the commune as a Roboticist and fell in love with his father.  The two got married and she effectively became his mother.
When he got old enough he started helping his mother repair the robots and even started figuring out ways to alter them.  At 16 he started helping the mechanics outside as well, and found that he preferred the more versatile array of machines outside to the repetitive robot technology he'd been repairing.  He continued to work whichever of those jobs he needed to do, but one month ago they told him that he would either have to officially join the commune or leave.  He was getting tired of the area around his parent's commune and craved the challenge of starting again in a new location, so he decided to leave.  They gave him an [url=http://cdn.pcgamesn.com/sites/default/files/marsvehicle1.jpg]old truck[/url] and some emergency supplies and said goodbye.  He picked up a friend from a nearby commune, connected her trailer of supplies to the truck, and they left for the area of the new commune.

Role: Housemate/Botanist

Skills:  Cooking, growing plants, she's got a general knowledge of the life support and power systems, though she can't do much more than adjust settings.

Personality:  She's laid back, not easily getting stressed and highly optimistic.  In her free time she likes to make crafts out of whatever she can find.

History:  Her mother was already pregnant with her when she joined the commune where she grew up as a housemate, and she doesn't know who her father is.  Her only "siblings" were the children of the other people in the commune.  She was raised by the group, mostly helping her mother, but sometimes helping the commune's botanist in the hydroponics bays.  They occasionally traded with the other communes in the area, selling the metal they produced for the goods the other communes produced.
She met James one time when his father came to their commune to trade plastic they had made for metal.  They became friends, as both of them didn't take things as serious as the others, and started communicating with each other periodically.
When she heard that he was going to leave to start a commune, she decided to join him, as she was tired of the too-serious people of her home commune.  She convinced them to give her a trailer with some basic modules and equipment, and joined James when he came by to pick her up.
