Ryouko sighed, as she said this. He clearly wasn't in a position to question her but he said this. 

"You could follow what you just said and let it go. You're older than I am, Veronica. Yet to me...this is all pointless. Why not just walk away and not talk to him? It wouldn't be...hard." He said, his arms crossing as the blood wound around his wrist once more. He shook his hair out of his eyes, speaking again. "He might not have meant what you thought. He might have actually been trying to help you from what I just heard. I understand a lot more than people give me credit for."
