[@Gun] [@Saint Girralo] [@Archmage MC]
The Battlefield
The prone Knight was far from daunted by the explosions all around him, the worst they have done merely being obscuring his vision and even with that; he was quick to see that his spellcaster friend was going to get overrun by the Rebels in their advance and with renewed Vigor; rises up to the task and makes a glorious charge towards the center of Roy's unit, once again laughing off the various blaster bolts and bullets splash against his armor. This time however, Fate decides to throw him a bone and with the force of a raging bull; the knight smashes into the line, trampling over an unfortunate pair of soldiers who were preparing to fire an anti-tank missile at him before he promptly goes to town on the rebels, each slash of his simple-seeming sword hacking though flesh, armor and steel like butter and cutting a bloody swath through the ranks. If something isn't done soon, there'll be no more force left to charge in! The Puppet-Wizard meanwhile merely frowns at the incoming fireballs and does nothing to stop them as they wash over his form to little effect, his magical attire having been enhanced to resist flame in mind; however the grenade that found itself next to his feet gave him far more justified worry and without flourish, the magician returns it to sender by catapulting it with a small pillar of earth. Unfortunately for him, that was just first of a whole volley of grenade... Reacting to the realization of his coming mortality with a sound between a squeak and a groan, the Wizard quickly covered his entire form with numerous thick sheets of earth to protect himself from the inevitable fireball. When the smoke and dust cleared, the Wizard would be gone from where he had been and instead, driven right through a supply crate a good hundred feet away head-first. Needless to say, the Resistance wouldn't have to worry about him anytime soon. Unfortunately, the Resistance had inadvertently traded in one powerful spellcaster for a pair of potentially stronger ones as the two hooded mages; who were hanging back with the flame knight in the rear, had finally decided to directly intervene instead of providing support due to the quickly degenerating situation. Mage 1 makes its presence known by unleashing a trio of small but violent whirlwinds towards Roy and everyone near him with a wave of its staff, the dusty devils homing right at the Alchemist officer while Mage 2 erects a bastion of Earth and Rock to keep the both of them from getting torn to shreds by the massed fire now currently directed at them. While Kyrie's gambit did indeed succeed in neutralizing his Angelic pursuer, it had failed to destroy him; as his Holy Panoply would not be so easily crushed by mortal artifice. Rather than being vaporized, the Holy Warrior was merely burnt and bloodied by the attack; yet he still stood proud and tall despite his robe being in tatters and the rest of him little better off. Shielding himself one last time from the mech's blindfire, he manages to protect his vitals from the beams before he sinks down to one knee; exhausted and humiliated. But the Angel would not get any respite as a mob of vengeful Resistance troops began to move in on his position. Cursing his fortune, the Angel wills his broken body to stand, even though he wobbles unsteadily on his feet, he does not plan on dying on his back! But as they began to raise their weapons, several of them from the back were sent sailing high into the air; prompting the rest to turn around and fight their sudden attackers. Seeing the wingtips of his two squires amidst the flailing bodies, the realization that his students will get themselves killed over his mistake fills the Swordsman with both fear and righteous strength. With a deafening battle-cry, the angelic knight then lunges towards the swiftly panicking mob; lopping off limbs and heads like a scythe to wheat. Meanwhile the Licht Gruppe squad leader was holding the fort, facing an entire battalion of resistance troops trying to go through a breach in the defensive line all alone... And stalemating with them.
