But the last two days had taken their toll. Even with the growing noise of the morning, he was still fitfully trying to sleep, legs twitching as he dreamed of chasing said squirrels for breakfast. Ash was gone, so he was pressing close to the fireplace for warmth. He clutched his possessions to him for comfort and as the blanket draped over him, the twitching stopped. The dreams became as peaceful as they could as he breathing steadied. He'd sleep till mid-day if nothing came up first. But something always does.
