The Outer Sky Republic are a large fighting force of trained soldiers. However, they are built over the top of large sulphur pits. Though these pits can prove very useful for gun powder if left for too long in the heat they boil and can explode. To combat this and add to their fighting presence they introduced and created very basic airships to build a higher town. It worked, barely but it worked. They moved from the very basic ships that were just a bored and a large fan to more advanced models where they used Arcane to move the engines. These still weren't reliable as often the engines would pack up or the balloon would lose air often resulting in failures. ((I am not saying I want a huge battle ship. But I sort of expected that a steam-punk RP would have at least a bit of airship)) When he left the Navy he used his commision sell price and money he scraped together to buy a decent airship, one that had a decent engine and bedding arngement.
