He has a point. Telling now would be kind of pointless and would ruin any chance of forgiveness. Establishing a bond may work well in this situation, before the truth is revealed.
Either way though it's really your guys' choice if you wanna tell Xoxi or let a bond happen.
I'll roll with whatever. 
Also I might possibly make Gyro his own separate character, still deciding on that.
