The man could never understand why someone would simply forgo logic and reason in the name of their faith, it baffled his mind. This of course had sparked numerous conflicts in his own religious household until it resulted in Aleph storming out and getting his own small apartment to live in as he studied Mechanical Engineering in college. He would sink all of his time and efforts into his project: the Animus Drive, a complex engine he was sure would change the world. He spent many a days wondering what was wrong and how he could fix his creation and improve it, while many a moons were spent toiling with tools and cogs. Of course, as fate would have it, the day he finally decided to show it to his class, it had exploded in front of him. But instead of seeing heaven when the light faded away, he saw "restart from checkpoint".
