[*][b]Background:[/b] A girl enamoured with stories of heroes, the one who would eventually become Ranca Blom always had her heads in the clouds.  She was kind of a nerd, and never really had many friends, with most people thinking she was just kind of weird, but she always stood up for the friends she [i]did[/i] have.  She was happy enough with her lot, but always felt something was missing despite not being able to figure out just what that something was.  Unfortunately, her fixation on heroics proved to be her undoing, as one day whilst returning home she spotted a young child in the middle of the road, about to be hit by an oncoming truck.  Acting as fast as she could, she was able to save the child... And was left right in the way of the runaway vehicle.  Naturally, there was no way a girl with her head full of heroic nonsense could defeat several tons of rampaging steel, which... Leads us to her current predicament.  Life after death is a bit different than what she expected, but she's going to take it at her own pace and grab the afterlife by the horns.  Maybe this time she can be the hero she'd always dreamed of being.
