[sub][@Rekaigan] and [@lovely complex][/sub]
Previous Sunday Night....
At Shiny Park Not wanting to deal with all these new faces, especially since Amity LITERALLY just got done performing in front of a crowd at the casino (and then made a spidey escape), Amity turned to Kazu to see if he wanted to stroll on out of there. Luckily for her, he beat her to the punch and had already brought his phone to her face. She read his text:
“Perhaps we should go somewhere else? They seem to know each other, I wouldn’t want to interrupt them.”
Amie looked at him eagerly. Grabbing his arm, she began tiptoeing away and of course, pulling him with her. Goodbye strangers. Goodbye man that needed directions! Goooooodbye! Kazu was caught completely off guard by the sudden pull from the shorter girl, if it were anyone else, their ass would’ve been on the concrete within the second, however he decided to just let it happen. She then whispered to her new friend, “Let’s go to the water fountain! It’s too early to go home”. In reality, it was getting really, really late. However, the young idol was in no mood to return to her uppity manager. Even without checking his watch or phone, he could tell that it was late. Maybe for her, but not for him.. ..The fountain? He only just realized that there was a fountain in this park. This whole time, he hadn’t noticed the slight noise of pattering water. He shrugged internally as they made their way to the fountain. One of the only places in the park that had more than one streetlamp to illuminate it. The white light shimmered on the water, not in a beautiful kind of way though. Or at least, that’s how Kazu felt about it. He quietly tapped on his phone again, with his free hand, before showing Amie another message, ”You seemed eager to leave? Is everything alright?” it said, his expression held slight worry. With a childish grin, as she noticed his worry (which she didn’t mind at all), Amity purred, “Oh I’m fine! I’ve just been around people all day. It’s nice to just be with one person rather than a thousand, you know?” She wasn’t exaggerating, at all. Though all the people she encounters are fake, business people, or her fanbase that worships the ground she walks on. Liars, all of them! One thing she noticed about Kazu was how expressive he was, it was kind of nice to see an honest face like his. This man was simply silent, but his actions spoke louder than words. Amity liked that about him. Kazu’s expression of worry was replaced by a slight smile at Amie’s response to his message. He couldn’t agree more about being around crowds. Tiring. But thousands was a little bit of a stretch. He figured that she was exaggerating, like most people do. Amie was a pretty interesting person to him, he wasn’t able to anticipate anything that she did, her energy being unexpected. Jumping up in the air, her left foot landed on the rim of the fountain as her right foot went in a flamingo formation. Balance was key. Prowling around the fountain like some kind of trapeze artist, she focused long and hard on not losing her stability. Looking up at the night sky, she raised her hands high in the air. Her face filled with appreciation for life (no she was not a hippie). Nature was a beautiful thing, she truly did love night time. Night was her favorite time of day. Unfortunately, there was no garden of Moonflowers that she was aware of nearby. Quickly turning to him, she asked curiously, “What brought you here? I’m kind of new to Shine City.” Scratching the top of her head, her eyes never left his gaze. And just like that, something else he didn’t expect her to do. He instinctively moved his hands to a position to catch her should she fall, but she didn’t, much to his relief. His gaze moved to the star-lit sky when she raised her hands. He glanced at her pose. What was she doing?..What were those people called again? Hippies? Yeah. Maybe. To each their own. He thought in amusement. He too liked the night time. It was peaceful and cool, unlike the day which usually presented the sun. Heat. He hated the heat. His gaze connected with hers as she spoke briefly before his eyes moved down to his phone as he typed out another response. ”Well.. I just wanted a change of pace. I was also looking for somewhere to study at the time, so it worked out this way.” He gave her a warm smile as she showed her the message Nodding to him in agreement, Amity could relate with the whole “change of pace” thing. She was constantly traveling. Celebrities had such a fast life. Her tour had nearly come to a close and finally, her parents allowed her to reside somewhere for a while like she did in America! Twirling around in circles on the rim, she realized hers’ and Kyle’s phones weren’t safe on her… while she was so close to water. Taking off the big, male jacket given to her from one of her dancer’s, which held the two phones in it, she tossed the coat onto nearby grass. Her performance outfit was revealed to Kazu, he could now see her how she looks to the masses (social media, magazines, and TV). Full-on idol attire. Or he could think she has a thing for wearing extravagant, decorative, customized clothes… she can’t assume what he’d know about pop culture. “That makes sense. I came here to see my friend. I did get to see him today but he got in a massive brawl with some guy over a girl…” Her voice trailed off as she thought about that same incident that had happened earlier. The fight had caught her off guard-- Kyle never let a person get to him like that before, especially over a girl. Kazu’s eyes widened slightly in surprise when he saw her full-on idol attire. He didn’t really know what to make of it, since he wasn’t really well versed in.. media. Must be a hardcore cosplayer? Probably? To each their own. He repeated in his head. As her mind was completely lost in thought, she was no longer paying attention to the rim and the next thing she knew, her clumsy self slipped and went in the direction of the water. Welp. “I guess it’s good I took the coat off…” She thought to herself, her ice, cold eyes looked at the shimmering water as it drew closer. This would not be the first time Amity’s tripped into a pool water. Kazu probably saw this coming, especially since he was following her like a worried dog. As foreseen, Kazu did see this coming, however he wasn’t entirely prepared for it. He had let go of his phone as he went to grab Amity as she fell, however he tripped as he tried to step onto the rim of the fountain, following her into the water. This time their positions reversed, he was on top of her this time. The fedora she was wearing was now floating away in the low-level fountain, her bun was loosened and her curls were unraveling (her hair had been straightened for the performance). He hovered over her and for some reason, she just wanted to laugh. Before she bursted out in laughter though, they simply stared at each other. Her blue eyes shimmered under the moonlight. They made one hell of a momentous team. Somehow, either her or him found their way “on top” of the other. Twice in one night. Bringing her pointer finger up to his nose, she “booped” it and then commenced in laughing. Kazu moved his head back slightly when she ‘booped’ him. Not something he was use too.. but.. he couldn’t help but laugh as well. However, his laugh was silent, mostly just short cut breaths. He covered his mouth as he tried to stop himself, but everything was just so funny he couldn’t contain it anymore. “Thank you Kazu for making my first night worth remembering.” Her laughing eased and her face beamed revealing cute dimple cheeks. He gave the girl a warm smile as his laugh subsided, That’s my line. He thought as he got up, helping Amie up as well. Some time passed and after leaving the fountain, they got their things. Both of them decided to walk in some kind of direction. They probably should get home soon... Drenched and walking on the park’s sidewalk, Amity tried to apologize to her new friend but her apology was interrupted by her own sweet, laughter, “I-” She held onto her stomach, “I’m so- so-” She giggled some more, “S-sorry.” The actions of today were so random and she loved it. This was truly a wonderful first day. She had wrecked her best friend’s room, met a little diva, who saw right through her disguise, her escape from the casino was flawless, and she made a sweet friend. He couldn’t help but smile at the way Amie was laughing as she tried to apologise to him, it was quite a hilarious situation that they had gotten themselves into. He hadn’t expected his first night in Shine City to be so...fun. More often than not, Kazu felt that he was pretty good at anticipating people’s actions. But this girl. She was doing all sorts of things he didn’t expect. Rather, he’d never been around someone so energetic. As he followed behind her, she jumped around suddenly. The young idol didn’t want to seem rude for not facing him while she apologized (she didn’t expect he’d follow so close). Kazu was about to say something, but he was interrupted by a sudden forehead connecting with his *clunk*. It caused him to pull back slightly in surprise, but it didn’t hurt very much. He started to laugh when she did, shaking his head slightly as he did. Everything about tonight was interesting and fun to him. This was really the change of pace that he was looking for. The young idol fell a little back but steadied herself near immediately. Rather than saying “owe”, like most normal girls would, she continued to snicker. Amity was truly enjoying herself, “I’m sorry for that too.” There was a red mark on both of their foreheads but the idol didn’t seem to mind. Gesturing to his red mark, she bantered, “It looks good on you.” Their moment was ruined when she saw Liam talking to this woman at the next bench. The lady pointed in the direction of her and she began to kick the floor, “Brace yourself, Kazu…” The next seconds, minutes, happened so fast. The frustrated manager marched in their direction and then grabbed ahold of Amity’s arm. Pulling her in the direction of the car, Liam began lecturing her. Amity pulled her arm back and the two began arguing for a little bit. Not wanting to make Kazu anymore uncomfortable, she demanded, ”We will take my new friend home.” Frustrated and only wanting to get home himself, Liam agreed. “Fine, but don’t expect having much free time this next week.” “But.. but Christmas!” She pouted. “Even so, you have obligations that can’t be rescheduled. I won’t be so careless next time…” The man looked at the wet, young people and his eyes narrowed, questioning the sight, ”Why are you wet?” The stern, tall Irish man waited impatiently. She didn’t bother answering knowing he’d just give her hell if she told him she fell in the fountain. She’d let him assume it was the rain. Giving a sigh of exasperation, the manager ushered the mute to follow. Looking at Kazu, her expression turned apologetic. The argument seemed to be far beyond his understanding. It seemed like Amie was someone important, or maybe just had a lot of stuff to do. Semantics. He looked back at the girl, giving her a slight shrug and a small smile. He was sure things would be.. okay? Soon enough, they were brought to the white BMW. Luke, her bodyguard, with long, red hair (but smaller, bulkier, more intimidating looking), waited in the driver seat. A smirk fell on his face when he noticed Amity with Kazu. Was this the beginning of young love? Both Kazu and Amity went in the back seat and then she asked him, “Where do you live? Sorry about this…” she played with her fingers as she waited for his response. The first thing he noticed was a man with long, red hair and from what Kazu could tell, was a very good physique. He’d be lying if he wasn’t slightly intimidated by the man’s presence, however he felt that he could match against him in a fight.. Possibly. Amie’s question was a little sudden, but to be expected. Of course she didn’t know where he lived. He rapidly tapped on his phone again, showing it to her, ”I live at the Shine Academy dorms.” it said simply. He wasn’t about to ask her where she lived, partly because he didn’t really need that information. It’d be weird to ask, right? “Shine Academy dorms, Luke.” The bodyguard nodded and began driving off. Peering through the rear mirror, Liam couldn’t help but notice that this young male didn’t speak and as if right on cue, Amity’s voice chimed in and answered the question that was his mind. ”Next time you see me, I’ll hopefully know some sign language. That’s one of the few languages I haven’t studied yet…” After she said that, she dug in her bag and took out her pencil and a piece of manga paper. Scribbling her number and address on it and simply tracing “Amie” on the paper (She forgot he didn’t know her fullname), she passed it to him:
362-1249, Teraodai, Upscale Heights, Shine City +8199-062-5638
He studied the piece of paper for a moment. He didn’t know where Upscale Heights was. Sounded fancy. He added Amie to his contact information, her name on his phone being just like what she had written on the paper, smiley face and all. He tapped a message onto his phone, sending it to Amie’s number. ”I can teach sign language to you, if you’d like.” it said. “I’d like that.” Her stare was soft as the car drove to the university's dorms. --- New Years Eve - 5pm Kazu had been sitting on his bed for quite some time now, trying to think of what he’d wear to the ‘masquerade’ party, whatever that meant. He’d never been to one before, much less a party like this. He assumed it was quite fancy. He sighed and got up from his bed. There was only one thing to wear for a formal thing. His yukata and his mask. These should be formal enough right? They said ‘Black and White’ only so.. He should be okay. They should let him in. Hopefully. Maybe he might look a little strange with the kitsune mask on, but it was white nonetheless. He put on the mask, letting it sit on the top of his head, to the side. He didn’t need to have it on his face until he arrived there. Shouldn’t take him too long. Perhaps he’ll get to see Amie again. Such thoughts put a smile on his face. He shouldn’t expect too much.
