Alex was at his locker stuffing books back in with one hand and digging around for his camera in an almost panic with the other in the bottom of his locker. "Come on, come on, come on," he said under his breath. Finally a very wide smile crossed his face as he felt what he was looking for, Alex pulled out his digital camera and checked it over. He said, "Full charge, plenty of room on the memory card, and..." looking at his watch "plenty of time to get out to the field to get some pictures of the band practicing." Alex made sure that he had the written note from Mrs. Becker the yearbook adviser to be out of class in case campus security came up to him. Alex stuffed the camera back in his jacket and said, "Once again Alexander the Great is on the case." Alex didn't give himself that nickname Mrs. Becker did. He generally hated his legal name but it sounded nice with the nickname. She gave it to him because he usually got the impossible shot for either the school paper or the yearbook. Not to mention he sold three pictures to the local paper last year. With that Alex was starting to sprint down the hall but slowed up long enough when he saw Katy by her locker and said, "Hey Katy." As he blew by and out the door to the practice field. Alex and Katy had a couple of classes together over the years and he thought she was all-right. At times it seemed like she wanted to be by herself, but Alex had seen Katy be very creative in writing and art which impressed Alex as someone else who thrived on creativity.
