Maddie hasn't told tempo the secret to her tea, as far as I know, so that's what Mierno is getting at, here. He knew tempo had a hand in the different energies clashing, and through the vision shared between him and Dane, he saw it, giving him enough basis onowlege to make a decision..... I think.
