[i][sub]Despite standing at a height of 5'3 with a small frame, Ariadne is cute but ready for battle. She is very much the spitting image of her mother, inheriting everything from the high cheekbones to the bright red hair and pale skin. She has her father's eyes, however, a light blueish gray with heavy eyelashes.

She tends to dress pretty casually but not lazily. Generally, Ariadne wears a lot of black but also loves to sport colors like green, yellow, pink, and blue. In warm weather she wears light shirts but, due to her intense insecurity over her blindingly pale legs, normally wears pants. Although she does love dresses and sports a lot of cute ones in the fall and winter over a pair of tights and boots. Fall, being her favorite season, is when her obsession for jackets becomes apparent. Her nails are normally painted either red or a dark shade that contrasts against her pale skin. Jewelry wise, she wears a lot of earrings, rings, and necklaces-nothing too gaudy, though.[/sub][/i]

[indent]Ariadne isn't unfriendly, but it certainly takes some effort to break through her tough shell. It's not really that she's shy or antisocial but making friends and communicating with others in general has always been difficult for her. Whether it's due to her habit of putting herself in awkward situations or her quiet demeanor, Ariadne has always been seen as somewhat of a lone wolf. She's often lost in her thoughts or too busy doing something that requires her focused attention. She enjoys being alone but hates the feeling of loneliness itself therefore she requires and needs to be around people in order to stay sane. But it's tough to be as emotionally guarded as Ariadne is, especially when all you really want sometimes is someone to talk to. It's safe to say that she is as stubborn as they come and absolutely refuses to seek help if she is perfectly capable of taking care of her own issues. She does not like to come off as weak and it says a lot about your relationship with her if she feels comfortable enough to shed her emotional barrier in front of you. After all, Ariadne bottles up her emotions, too afraid to show them for fear of being rejected or ridiculed. 

Ariadne is not shy, though. Awkward and insecure, yes, but she has no problem with saying what's on her mind. As a matter of fact, she's a very honest person. Be wary of asking her for her opinion, however, because she will tell you exactly what she thinks without hesitation. She does not believe in sugarcoating things. This is not to say that she's mean as Ariadne is a very polite person. She was raised to treat others with respect and kindness for there is not enough time in life to waste being bitter or hateful. Though Ariadne is not quick to judge others, she is certainly a firm believer in listening to your gut when it speaks up. And so she is cautious of those who rub her the wrong way. Loyal and reliable, once you become apart of her life she will do anything for you. She can hold a grudge though, and sometimes, when terribly hurt by someone, will shut you off completely. It's one of her biggest flaws that she hates to apologize or admit when she is wrong. And when she does actually apologize, she genuinely means it. For the most part, Ariadne doesn't normally dwell too much on other people's opinions of her, but she [i]is[/i] still young and therefore insecure. She wants to be admired but hates to let that aspect of her show. She dreams of big things even if she's not entirely sure what she wants in life yet.

Ariadne is very witty and intelligent. She is very opinionated and is never afraid to speak up in class or to call someone out for being unfair or unjust. There is a certain charm to Ariadne in the fact that, although she is generally very sweet, she has some bite to her. Ariadne is stubborn, sarcastic, and on her best (and sometimes worst) days, she will not hesitate to snap back at anyone who tries to trample over her. All in all, she is kind at heart and tries to put out as much love into the world as she can, hoping that it will all come back to her eventually. [/indent]
[color=f7976a]H I S T O R Y[/color]
[indent]Ariadne was born at the stroke of midnight on October 31st. At least that’s what her parents used to tell people when they recanted the story of her birth to anyone that would listen. As her father, Jules, would always say, Ariadne came out kicking and screaming. And she liked to think that that’s the way she wanted to go out as well-fighting.

She grew up in a relatively normal household, as normal as a home can be when you include magic and the wizarding world. Both of Ariadne’s parents were wizards, and it became apparent that she was also magical by the time she was seven when she accidentally caused her cousin to begin sprouted little branches after he shoved her off of a swing set. Her abilities hadn’t been obvious up to that point, but both of her parents were delighted to know that their only child was a magical person like them.

Ariadne lived in Pennsylvania until she was 14 or 15. Her father worked as a Healer and her mother was a magizoologist who was also a journalist working for the Daily Star. She was close to both of her parents, though Ariadne was particularly close to her mother. She was the spitting image of Cecilia but their similarities didn’t just end in the looks department, Ariadne took many traits from her mother’s personality as well. Their bond was more than just mother and daughter, Cecilia was Ariadne’s best friend and maybe the only person who really understood her. 

They weren’t a perfect family, but the Tunes were very happy for a long time. Ariadne missed both of her parents terribly while she was away at school but looked forward to every break and holiday when she could be with them again. She was a very good student and took her studies seriously, always being close to the top of her class each semester. When she was thirteen, her mother died quite suddenly on a trip in Canada. Apparently she had gone there in order to study the mysterious forest trolls but had underestimated how aggressive their species could be when they sensed an invader. Cecilia died instantly from blunt force trauma to the head, not even giving Ariadne or her father a chance to say goodbye. The news of her mother’s death devastated her and she had to take some time off from school to be with her family. Things changed drastically between Ariadne and her father. Once close, they slowly drifted apart. Ariadne’s pain turned to anger that she unreasonably directed at her father. Her father didn’t understand her like Cecilia, didn’t know how to comfort her or help her like Cecilia, and that caused Ariadne to almost blame her mother’s death on her father. Her love for him was still there, but without Cecilia, neither of the remaining Tunes knew how to communicate with each other. Jules sold the house when Ariadne was fourteen and she all but moved in with her mother’s sister, Bea, afterwards. It hurt her to be so distant from her the only parent she had but Ariadne was too stubborn to reach out. 

Despite the sad circumstances she had found herself in, Ariadne tried to remain positive for her dead mother’s sake. It was somewhat comforting for her to be staying with her Aunt Bea and her family. Bea and Cecilia were very close and so having someone who seemed to understand her pain was nice. She still keeps in contact with her father, but these days he is very “busy at work,” and hardly makes time to see her.

The Tune family claimed to be strictly pureblood for generations until Ariadne was born. During Voldemort's reign they were silent supporters of his cause but changed those views somewhat after his defeat. It became less popular to publicly detest muggle witches and wizards, which might be part of the reason why Julius' parents did not outright disown him when they caught wind of his marriage to a muggleborn witch. The Tune's are wealthy and had prominent positions in the Ministry of Magic from the 18th century to the late 19th century. 

On her mother's side, there isn't much to say about the Pendletons. Her mother, Cecilia, was the second known witch to come out of their family after her great-great grandmother, Sonia. Cecilia only had one other sibling, her little sister Bea who never manifested any kind of magical power.
