Having no other choice but to drop his weapons to save Bilbo's life, Thorin threw his sword down onto the ground at his feet with an angry growl. Following their leader's example, the other dwarves did the same. The trolls then seized all of them and tied most of them up in burlap sacks, while a few of the others they tied to a large branch which they suspended over the fire as a skewer. Now that they had secured such a large amount of dwarves to eat however, the trolls could not agree upon exactly how the dwarves should be eaten. One thought that they should simply just eat them as is (because he was hungry enough and had waited long enough already!), the second insisted they should sit on them and squash them into jelly, while the third was of the mind to sautee them over the fire with a seasoning of sage.
