No way, man. I had a game where I wiped out multiple Emperor (or was it Deity?) AI before the stone age was over.

And in the game vs. Egypt, I wiped out the other player with swarms of barbarians and archers while he was still working on his first spearman.

Trust me: Songhai is a [i]powerhouse[/i] at the start of the game. It makes money every time it clears out a barbarian camp or sweeps through a city. If you're on the same continent as anyone, it's hilarious fun to rush 'em with troops you bought from barbarian camp money.
