I can both see Adam as a creepy lover and not a creepy lover, if that makes sense. Without a doubt dudes fucked up in the head, regardless of his relationship with Blake. That alone at least qualifies him as creepy, since he is kinda ya know, leader of a terrorist organization who wants to destroy all of humanity. Normally that's something some people can get behind on but more often than not when you want to commit genocide against any race, no matter the quality of the race in question, you're crazy by default. The fact he calls Blake "My love" and "Darling" just goes to show how attached to his own insane mentality is. Perhaps as far as he knows, Blake loved the White Fang and what it represented, and he felt the same. But the reality of the fact was that Blake wanted something much more, how to say, innocent, and that didn't line up with what Adam wanted. But frankly I don't give a damn about Adam as a creepy lover or what not. I still think it was a cheap angle to play him as instead of say, a maniacal terrorist leader who simply felt betrayed that one of his closest subordinates cut and ran instead of sticking with him to the end. That is to say, they played up the (implied) shipping between him and Blake too much.
I would have much preferred if Adam treated Blake more like how Yang thought of her after Blake ran: contempt and apathy. Sometimes tells me that Adam still feels some level of want from Blake, hence why he's going to try to ruin her life. But again, that just feels cheap and creepy. If they depicted Adam as more of an "You betrayed everyone's trust and I hate you" and less "You belong to me and shouldn't have ran away", I would have liked him more as a villain.

I didn't like it. Really didn't like it. It confirmed a lot of the bad feelings I was starting to get last week and amplified them. The finale gave no REAL resolution to the events of the last three volumes (seriously, not even a scene detailing what happened to the individual members of CMEN? Roman confirmed dead in a livestream? What about Raven? What about Ozpin? What about Ironwood - communications or not, why hasn't he just flown back to Atlas and explained the situation by now? Clearly the Schnees can still traverse kingdoms, you're telling me fucking Ironwood can't? Blake just RAN THE FUCK OFF?) and instead offered a plethora of new shit for us to care about. (Taiyang was cool but needed to look like less of a beta shithead around Qrow, and mentioning silver eyes offhand one time doesn't count as foreshadowing when you've built up the Maidens as the super world-breaking power of choice for the back half of the volume and then suddenly blow everything the fuck out with Ruby's silver eyes. Why would they trigger for Pyrrha's death and not for Penny? Where the hell was Jen Taylor's character standing? What was the point of invalidating all that time we spent waiting for Cinder's plan and compounding the fact that we don't even know if she failed or not?) It's not the way to end a season, especially when you've rushed most of three years of plot into one volume to begin with and we expect real answers and endings for some of the characters after all this time.

Yeah, this was an obvious sequel bait that left a whole lot of questions unanswered. While it's obvious that a fourth season is suppose to come out and help deal with some of them, this leaves me less "wanting more" and more "unsatisfied with my meal". What I hate more is just how vague everyone is about the silver eyes thing. Like fuck, everyone knows that Ruby has some special powers. Stop fucking treating her like a kid and just tell it to her straight. "Ruby you have the powers of the Winter Maiden, and now we're going to need you to fix this mess Cinder made." I'm sure Ruby will be far less hesitant to learn and use her powers than Pyrrha was, bless her soul. She tried, she really did, but your life was sealed the moment you decided to be the best thing to ever happen to Jaune. Speaking of Jaune, I'm actually rather glad about how he was shown in this episode. I know a lot of folks hate him for being essentially Main Protag #2, but I like him because I can relate to him (Which is likely another reason everyone hates him). As far as skills and aspirations go, fo sho I want to be a badass hunter, and hell yeah I have absolutely no idea how to actually go about that. I'm not exactly a natural or trained warrior, just some guy with a sword and shield. I do hope he doesn't end up with some sort of BS semblance that would allow him to fix all the crap that happened (Everyone says he has healing powers, so I'm sure it won't be too much of a stretch to think that he could possible raise the dead if he gave it his all) to keep him real. And I could feel the anger he had when Pyrrha forced him into a locker. All that training, all the things he wanted to do with Pyrrha, for Pyrrha, and now she's gone. Though I'm at an impasse of wondering if it's okay for him to get over Pyrrha's death, or if he should spend the next few episodes angsting about it. Either way everyone will still give him shit about it, but he's got my support regardless. Pyrrha went out like a boss. Sure we all knew she wasn't going to win, and honestly I really did question why she didn't listen to Jaune and just went to get help like she was suppose to (She might have been too late, but Ruby and Weiss were on the way. They may not have been Glynda, Crow, or Ironwood, but they were the best they got), but she gave Cinder a run for her money. Also she got shot in the Achilles Heel and sure enough, it was shortly followed by her death. At least she showed Jaune her feelings for him right before she died, even if it was basically the last nail in her coffin. Don't really got much to say about Tai. he looks scruffy. I wonder what his weapon is? Yang. Damn. It's hard to imagine Miss Fuck-yo-up to be down in the dumps like that. Even when she got her ass handed to her by Neo she was still itching and ready to go. But it's been a traumatic few days for her. First she gets defamed on national TV, then she gets her arm cut off by her girlfriend's ex boyfriend, than her girlfriend fucking runs off again for who-knows-why. If she had the other one she'd throw her arms into the air and "Fuck this shit" as she did. I do hope that maybe Ironwood stops by and gives her some peptalk/robot arm. Maybe even one of Penny's? Speaking of Penny, while beacon is certainly fucked up, I do hope they manage to get her parts back and she isn't out of the series yet. Of all the people who got killed, I really want my little rowbit. Though I have two theories about how she might make an appearance in season four: she is either used as spare parts for Yang, or she gets rebuilt and used as a new body for Pyrrha, with their souls sorta fused together to be with the people they love the most, and thus make a OTT (OTO?) of Rubyx(PennyxPyrrha)xJaune. but enough shipping talk. Dammit Blake. Why you gotta keep doing this? I really hope she isn't just running away from her problems again and is actually trying to do something she otherwise couldn't with the others. I'm kinda getting a "Berserker Gut's during his Black Swordsman days" feeling where she goes about killing off the White Fang or some such like so many RWBY Faunas OC's does nowadays. Which I'm pretty guilty of myself, to be honest. Though another sneaking feeling tells me that she's going to meet and train with Yang's mom. But that's just crazy talk. Weiss. What the hell is going on with Weiss? I mean, as far as Team RWBY goes, she left fairly unscathed physically, though emotionally I'm sure she has issues too. I dunno what to think about papa Schnee taking her back home. On one hand Weiss is a strong independent huntress woman who don't need no daddy. But then again Beacon is pretty fucked up, so maybe she figured she could at least amass a force in Atlas to help deal with it. This time with actual hunters and not robots. Still, I'm surprised to see her go with her father so easily. maybe we'll get to see more about why she did it next season, if it ever gets to that. As for Ruby's silver eyes things, me's a thinking that Ruby is actually the Winter Maiden. Yeah, pretty confusing too, what with her mum being the Winter maiden called Summer, but destiny is a fickle bitch like that. That's just a theory of course and I have no idea what the fuck is happening to Ruby, and I can't say i entirely like it. I never had a problem with Ruby before and I even found Crescent Rose, despite the potential edge factor it could have had, to be much more delightful as a character than some of the more edgy, black, red, and angst all over I was afraid she might have been. But hearing that she might have some super secret power in her bloodline makes me think "Whelp now she gets a convenient OP power to remain competitive instead of say, figuring out what she can do with super speed". I also do feel it's kinda been ass-pulled even if it was referenced way back in the beginning, as you said Plank, since there's literally no build up about it beyond "Hey I think you have your mother's eyes" from Ozzy. Whew this rant is taking up a lot of energy. I'll continue later.
