[hider=Spoiler]I don't think he's dead, he went toe to toe with the Fall Maiden and held his own. We didn't even see her land a hit that did any damage so very easily she may only have wounded him forcing him to escape.

I'd say that Qrow having his cane though means that Qrow is responsible for Beacon's fate now.[/hider]
