What was unique about this particular settlement was that it was in fact an all Faunus. It was ideally meant to be a safe haven away from the conflict, where Faunus who simply wanted to live simple lives and build something great had a chance to do just that. At least that what it was meant to be. As with all frontier settlements there risk for attracting grim was ever present and a very real threat. A village comprised largely of simple farmers and ranchers, many livestock and lives were claimed by the vicious beasts of Grim. The presence of Hunters and Huntresses was the villages only hope of long term servival. But they were sorely lacking in that area. They tried to contact hunters through the proper channels but were often blocked by the local government officials who weren't interested in spending money to protect a 'bunch of filthy animals'. And they weren't talking about the livestock. The villagers being poor settlers didn't have the money to hire a Hunter themselves, but pulling their recourses together they believed they could raise one. The scraped just enough money together to send a young girl to combat school. A fierce younger Sheppard girl, her parents both claimed by Grim when she was younger, leaving their flocks to her and her grandmother to tend. In her years tending what she inherited from her mother and father she proved more successful in keeping her herds alive and fending off beasts than most. Strong willed, gifted in combat, and young enough to qualify for Primary Battle Academy . For the good of the village, for the parents who may have lived had there been a hunter in the village, she agreed. She went, gave her all, and excelled. She got into Huntress school on a scholarship. She did her best to stay in contact with her village during her busy schedule of schooling. But during her senior year she stopped receiving missives of any kind. She graduated and went back to her village with all haste, only to find it utterly decimated with no survivors. All signs pointed to a massive grim attack. One that the local government simply allowed to destroy this defenseless famers and their families. Hart broken and filled with rage, she vowed to never let her people suffer in such a manner again. She has since become very distrustful of humans, especially their government. She is now known as something of extremist. She started been training Faunus on how to fight and make weapon, from there she developed a loose support network of like minded Faunus that came to be known as the `Fangs of Iron', a moniker chosen by her follower given an item she wears to help with her semblance. The Fangs of Iron are something like a loosely organized gang than a proper movement. Their primary activities tend to be being defensive muscle to protect protestors from violence, though lately there has been a call out among its members for more aggressive action.
