Sort of]I finally got around to watching the Four Maidens info clip on Rooster Teeth and while we've been given a lot of information on the Four Maidens and how their power is passed from generation to generation something occurred to me. Do we know anything about the Wizard that gave the Four Maidens their power. The Four Maidens have been the only trace of what could be called magic in the Remnant Universe so it stands to reason that the one who created this power is probably one of a kind that being the case the Wizard could very easily be immortal.

Making that assumption who is it in the series that has been looking after the Fall Maiden and making sure her power is not used for evil as it was a power bestowed to help people. It would stand to reason that the Wizard would wish to make sure that the powers he put out into the world were not abused. The obvious answer would be that the Wizard is in fact Ozpin. Think about it they're both old, wise (Dumbledore-esque) and Ozpin was able to withstand the powers of the fall maiden. Think about it, had Cinder actually killed Ozpin that would have been a huge victory (plus killing him off screen and not making a big deal out of it is just bad story telling). Cinder would more than likely have made that known to everyone to break morale. So if Cinder didn't kill Ozpin and Ozpin didn't defeat her the conclusion to be drawn would be that she ran away from him. What would the Fall Maiden with all her power have to be frightened of? Perhaps the one person in all of Remnant that knows more about her powers than she does.[/hider]
