Adding to the whole friendzone thing, [@SgtEasy], what [@Ninian] said goes for women in general. Many of them find it "weird" to either indulge in or develop feelings for men (or boys, whatever) they consider to be friends, whereas we all know men are usually more... opportunistic. This is why first impressions are very important when it comes to women. To increase your chances, it helps to make it evident (not blatantly obvious, but evident) that you're interested in them within the first few days of meeting them.
