Jaenelle and Dylan Cox Just outside Lake Tahoe
Jaenelle was heading towards a town just a few miles out from lake Tahoe on business. Someone from quantum contacted her asking if she could investigate a rumor being spread around this town. Apparently there was a couple with unusual luck lately, and a daughter who was artistically inclined. If this little girl could do what quantum was thinking, then Jaenelle was to bring her back so they could use her power in their favor. She arrived in town earlier than expected so she found a motel to wait in until night fall, when she would investigate. She decided to take a small nap while she waited, so she would be well rested should any conflicts come up. The sun had gone down many hours ago, and her alarm on her phone went off. She slowly sat up and reached for her phone. After hitting the dismiss button she started to get ready, checking to make sure she had everything. Although on this trip she only brought 3 throwing knives laced with a sleeping agent. This way she would simply graze the child's skin to knock her out cold for Quantum. After checking everything she slid her phone in her back right pocket and left for the girls house. She turned on the GPS in her car and spoke the address of the house she was headed to. "Hopefully this girl is worth something to Quantum, or this would be a waste of trip." she said to herself as she drove off. Meanwhile in Tahoe City Dylan's phone began to ring. He woke up half way and looked at who in the world could be calling him at this time. As soon as he saw the name he was wide awake and answered. "Hello, Jaenelle, is something wrong?" he questioned. No response came except for the sound of clothe running over the phones speaker. "Oh, sounds like a butt." he said. He went to end the call, but right as he did he heard his sister talking. It was an address. "Hopefully this girl is worth something to Quantum, or this would be a waste of trip." he heard from the other end. His sister was nearby and hunting a fellow evo, he couldn't let her do this. Not when he could do something to stop it. He quickly put on some clothes then started flying upwards until he was about cloud level. Luckily it was late at night and most people were asleep. He knew he had a tracking device and if things seemed odd he would get in trouble. So he followed the road, using his phone to navigate to the house. Meanwhile Jaenelle arrived at a truck stop not too far from the house, she parked here so her car wouldn't be seen around the house if she was going to be kidnapping this girl. She walked the rest of the way. When she finally arrived she looked at the house with frustration on her face. This was a pretty big house, a few rooms she was going to have to check. She sighed as she worked the front door lock open and stepped inside. Jaenelle crept up the stairs slowly as to not wake up the family. It would make her life a lot easier if they didn't wake up until after she was gone and the child gone. At the same time Dylan was racing off towards the little girls house. He couldn't let her follow through with whatever it was she was going to do. Once at the house he did a quick flight around the house checking in the Windows looking for the girl. Then he saw her, painting on the walls in her bedroom. Suddenly he saw the door knob beginning to turn, it had to be his sister. He propelled himself forward and through the window as the door swung open. Glass shattered everywhere. As soon as he landed in the room he shot out a vector changing barrier around the little girl. It was put up just in time as three knives ricocheted into the walls, which brought their attention to the paintings, and the painting the little girl was currently working on. They both stopped and looked over to see a painting of them busting in the room at the same time.
