As player characters? It would take some convincing, as such characters would likely end up in direct opposition with other players, and this isn't really designed with PvP in mind. But just as a facet of the world, sure. If you're familiar with the Warhammer Fantasy setting, think of it like Chaos, and how pervasive and twisted it is as an influence--yet there are still people who worship it and become warped as a result. Or the Darkfriends of the Wheel of Time. (Though, once again, those are High Fantasy of a sort and not on the same scale as this RP.)

There are those who have "good reason" to understand the Nightkin, however. For instance, the Church would probably be the source of any information regarding their natures and how to defeat them, and studying such works might be seen as "getting yourself in deep water," because of the proximity to the ideas of the Night, but wouldn't be cause to label someone as a Night-friend.
