What you're pushing for is pretty much exactly what I described, where most of the combat is player dictated and acted out. The only enemies that are GM dictated are named characters and major threats that are likely going to require teamwork, think of them as minibosses. Other than that, I'll generally describe what everyone's up again, add some wrinkles as things go along, and generally just let you guys go have fun. If you want to write combat a certain way, that's fine, but this is typical play by post fight scenes.
