The Awakening
Gm is [@Lord Zee] Co-Gm is [@Eyeris] Hello everyone! Here is an idea that a few of us have been working on for awhile now. Though the original idea belongs to Lucas Tallador, we have expanded on his rp after his long absence from the guild (over three months). In the original rp we got to a place were everyone was at each others throats, and then it died. Since we really loved this rp and did not want to see it be abandoned, we created something new from the old. Lore Short Version of Lore Before the war Humanity had no clue to the actual existence of divine beings. They simply took them as myth and legend, that was until one god became angry at his siblings and fell to hate. He swore to wipe humanity off the face of the Earth for what they did to him and his terrible war almost saw this to be true. In final act of sacrifice, most of his siblings sacrificed themselves to stop him and in doing so, they saved what remained of the human's home or so they thought. Skip ahead almost a hundred years and Earth, for the most part, has been completely refaced after the Great War, or the apocalypse and now is starting to fade from existence. Human beings are now immortal and can't die, but can still be hurt physically and mentally. People can still be crippled, and no one wants to live a life like that in this world. As for the gods, some are still around, others have slowly died out and even more are hidden in places no one wants to go. Even more alarming is that now some select humans are becoming gods themselves and no one has a clue to why this is happening. As of present day, a general call has been put out, calling all manner of survivors together to join a meeting in some obscure town, for talk about how they might resolve the world's problem.
"There was a time when the world wasn't so broken, back before the war, but it still wasn't perfect. Don't you remember? How could you ever forget... You were there." Once, there were gods who ruled in the skies up above and the world beneath. They were both loved and feared by humanity- some even worshiped them, such as the Egyptians, Greek and Romans. However, in truth, the gods did not care what the humans thought of them. Mostly, they did as they pleased- causing misfortune and mischief, while also capable of benevolence and kindness. The gods were ruled by the Sun and Moon, but seldom did they interact with anything anymore, choosing to remain in their own domains. They had twelve children, a majority of them felt neglected by their parents, but Armarion and Amos, who were the first and second born respectively, took charge of Heaven, while their younger siblings stayed and made homes of their own. Armarion was the God of Knowledge, and Secrets. Amos was the God of Valor and it was his sworn duty to protect Heaven from evil and corrupted beings. He failed in that task. It was around two thousand years ago, civilizations had risen and fallen time and time again with God's influencing them from the Heavens but it was not to last. It was just another normal day, And then all the gods fell- bound to the human earth and damned for the rest of eternity, or so they thought. They could no longer gain access to the realm of Heaven that sat above, nor the eternal pits of the Underworld and many wept. It was later found out that Amare, youngest of the Sun and Moon, had the gods cast out, and not just their children. He sent every single god not already there, to the human plane as a punishment for their actions, regardless of who was at fault. Amare never told them why and then vanished. Others sought to find him but quickly tired, the only way he would be found was if he gave himself up, and that was unlikely. Finally the year 2015 came around, humanity had reached new heights and all without help from divine origin but their own that they had created. Amare had finally revealed himself in an American city and when he did, gods began to arrive. Some sought answers, some wanted to go home and others only wanted him punished for his actions. When questioned, he only gave the reason why he had banished them. You see, the humans had been the Sun and Moon’s last and finest creations and without Heaven, the gods could not influence them like they had always done. He was tired of the abuse that the gods had inflicted upon the humans and wanted them to learn from their mistakes for a better future. Amare had only wanted them to be more human-like and some had, others had not. Amos was hurt deeply. Before he had fallen, the God of Valor had never intervened with mortal affairs, his task as guardian of the Heavens was too important. So this revelation that the humans were the cause of his banishment and worse, his siblings had inadvertently caused it, broke him completely. He turned away from his family, and became a twisted creature full of hatred over his pain. In those first few days, so full of rage Amos was, that he destroyed the city and threw humanity into the conflict. Not much is known about what happened after that as many who lived through the turmoil are now dead and the Gods that survived were too bitter for talk. What is known is that during the climactic battle that would decide who would rule Earth, Amos was defeated but at a cost. A number of his siblings, save a few who were not there, sacrificed themselves and in doing so, Amos was locked away. Now, it has been around 87 years since the end of the known world... Time isn't right anymore and nothing is truly the same. The humans who were left, struggled for civilization but it never truly came back to the way it was, now the land is dominated by kingdoms who control old-world land with a vengeance. The battle between the gods scarred the earth, but revealed the truth to humanity who had been largely left alone by the gods for so long… Their existence could now not be ignored. The consequences of these events changed everything. Gods could not cross between worlds even after the war. Now, nor could mortals. The over world and the underworld were banned by all. Mortals did not die anymore. At first, this seemed like a blessing. Yet, mortals quickly observed problems with their new-found immortality. They could no longer give birth. They could still be hurt, maimed, go insane, and even age. (Time also seems to be broken. Not everyone ages the same. Some do not age at all, or, some claim to have aged backwards. The sun does not rise and set at the same time, the seasons are unpredictable.) This condition does not only apply to humans, but plants, animals, and everything that was once mortal is now something else... The three worlds, apparently, cannot function properly, separated. Even now the Earth is showing signs of stress, whole swaths of land are simply disappearing into the void leaving behind craters that are impossibly deep. Creatures never before seen are simply attacking at random, crippling the now immortal humans and making matters for them even worse. There are still some gods left however. Each has dealt with the catastrophe in their own way. They mostly lay low now... For, it is rumored that an angry and powerful god will strike down any who become too powerful. A goddess of valor and vengeance... Even more unsettling is that humans are now reaching divinity at random, causing constant disputes. These new gods, as some are calling them, are both feared and respected. However, both gods and humans have realized that, they can help one another. The remaining gods still have power and the new ones are just beginning to tap into their potential, with the help from each other perhaps they can find a solution to their crumbling home. If they do not work together to correct the imbalance of the three worlds, they will all be doomed.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Laws of the World 1. There are three main dimensions: The Heavens, The Earth and The Underworld. There are also a multitude of pocket realms each entirely different then the rest. 2. All gods have three powers of their own, plus a weapon of some kind that can be stolen and used by other Gods/Demi-Gods and now humans. 3. Due to the nature of the new world, nothing can die anymore, but they can still be hurt. 4. Once, the King and Queen of the Gods were The Sun and The Moon. Together they had twelve children, a majority of them sacrificed themselves to stop Amos and are now gone from Earth. At one point, the oldest of which were the important Gods. Apart from that, the origins of the rest of the Gods and their society are up to those that create them. 5. To simplify things all Gods and Demi-Gods will your own character. They can be based on real Gods but they can't be those actual Gods, otherwise things are going to get ten times more confusing. 6. Gods can have up to 3 titles maximum. The Children of the Sun and Moon
Amare, the original God of Imagination, Creativity, and Art. Twelfth born of the Sun and Moon. He died locking away Amos in a pocket realm at the end of the war. With his death he gave humans the chance to live but not even he knew the consequences of what were to come. Kyra, the original Goddess of Darkness. Eleventh born of the Sun and Moon. Died sometime during the war with Amos. Rumor has it she inflicted a great wound upon Hatred but no evidence has come forward at this time to prove it true. Thalliana, the original Goddess of Light. Tenth born of the Sun and Moon. She died locking away Amos in a pocket realm at the end of the war. She used her powers to destroy most of Amos' darkened army before her end. Jack Frost, the original God of Winter. Ninth born of the Sun and Moon. He died protecting Thalliana from a reaper spawn sometime during the war. Ashthelic, the original God of Autumn. Eighth born of the Sun and Moon. He died locking away Amos in a pocket realm at the end of the war. Zora Showers, the original Goddess of Spring. Seventh born of the Sun and Moon. She died locking away Amos in a pocket realm at the end of the war. She saved countless human lives throughout the war and would be remembered for a time. Belleziona, the original Goddess of Summer. Sixth Born of the Sun and Moon. She died locking away Amos in a pocket realm at the end of the war. Lovinia, Goddess of Beauty, Purity and Love. Fifth born of the Sun and Moon. She remained neutral during the war, thus she survived. Fourth born, who knows what happened to them? Hiraga, Goddess of Nature. Third born of the Sun and Moon. She was not active during the war, thus she survived. Amos, the God of Hatred. Second born of the Sun and Moon. He was locked away by his siblings in a pocket realm prison after attempting to destroy Earth. Armarion, the god of Secrets and Knowledge. First born of the Sun and Moon. His status is unknown, most likely he died after witnessing the end.
Special note- There is only one spot open to be a child of the Sun and Moon. The Godly Weapons
Amare - Siren's Flute. It was an instrument with a song so sweet it put all those who heard it into a deep slumber, for mortals it put them asleep for half an hour, for Demi gods, 15 minutes and for the gods themselves a mere 5. However if you can't hear it your entirely immune to the device. The flute was with Amare when he died, it is presumed lost. Kyra - Night's Edge: This massive and rather nasty looking blade was very nearly the full size of Kyra herself but is almost as light as a feather (to her) as it's primary component is pure darkness. She's an excellent swordsman but an awful tactician meaning she usually does well in small skirmishes but fails miserably in prolonged engagements. The blade itself can briefly absorb the light in an area around it before unleashing it back in a devastating cleave. This blade was shattered following Kyra's death. Thalliana - Thallie had a necklace that she was given by her mother. It was used to protect her from damage but she could still be controlled by another god when caught/exposed to a power. This necklace is now in the hands of someone immortal. Jack Frost - Jack had a curved staff that allowed him to focus his powers and extend it farther passed his reach, which is why he was able to cover cities in snow. However, some of his magic still remains in the staff, thus whoever takes it would be able to control the powers of winter just as he did. This staff is most likely somewhere cold. Ashthelic - Ash’s weapon was his scythe. This weapon, as Jack’s is, holds some of his power, but it is much more deadly than that. It has the ability to kill any living thing it touches if Ash is holding it. If it has fallen on the ground and a new master takes it up, that master will not die, but they can kill Ash if they touch him with the Scythe. This is how Ash killed plants for the winter. The scythe broke, following a battle with Amos. It was split into two parts, both are hidden somewhere on Earth. Zora Showers - Flowered Crown of Harmony. For life to exist in the mortal plane, there has to be a very particular balance achieved. While that isn't always the case, the Crown is a way to ensure that Godly influences on the world remain in check. The Crown allowed Zora to dispel any conjuration, spell, or curse committed by any God or Goddess in her area of influence. The Crown is also an extension of Zora, herself, and removal of it will have a negative effect on the Goddess. Rumor has it that the crown was locked away before Zora died. Belleziona - This mirror, when looked upon, enables the user to change their form, but only into something of beauty. Belleziona uses it to change her form on Earth, and also to tempt women who want to be beautiful. The mirror was shattered into one hundred pieces when Belleziona died. The pieces are now strewn all over Earth. Amos - He had a heavenly sword called Cerbanis, which is an extension of himself and can be called upon at any time. Cerbanis granted the user spectral wings that allow flight and was extremely powerful. It became heavily corrupted when Amos fell and was most likely destroyed or lost. Armarion - Dailic the Longsword (slightly magical from Armarion's own tinkering, although not major only the sword has a slight mind of its own.) Dailic is presumed lost. Most important out of all of them: Have fun! Regardless if you are in IC or OOC, respect each other and be sure to have fun. 2. As I stated above please have respect for the RP and the people that are taking part in it. 3. Seeing as this is within the casual section please do post at least a somewhat decent paragraph with spelling and grammar that is appropriate for a casual RP. 4. If at any time you are going to be inactive for more than three days please do give everyone a heads up so that no one ends up stuck. 5. This RP is open to suggestions so if there are any please do come and talk about it with the GMs before going on with it. 6. This one is an obvious one, but no godmodding, power playing or meta gaming. No one likes it, so don't do it. 7. This is a mature RP, now this does not mean sex everywhere, it means there will be swearing and some mild violence, please keep it civil and do not try to traumatize another person through descriptively gory violence. 8. Last but not least respect the words of the GM and Co-GM.
