Serious issue here 'The Black Mountain's Burden: having arrived at the Black Mountain for his first time, Gigue has yet to accommodate himself to its foreign energies, and as result, the Aura of Hyperarmor is malfunctioning, appearing as a solid, inflexible carapace which renders him immobile while it is active.' Either that shield should not be able to activate while in mid-air, your character should lose all momentum mid-jump and fall in the stream, or your character should be unable to prepare for his fall due to his muscles seizing up and splat onto his face.
As [@Vordak] said, the armor moves with Gigue. If it acts as a 'carapace,' then you can think of it like a crab's shell, in that is effectively something coating his body, while also restraining it. Gigue himself wouldn't be able to move within it while it was active, but it wouldn't cancel out his momentum either. There's also no reason it shouldn't be able to activate in midair. That said, however, a jump does require some minor movement of the legs to land stably (it's instinctive, but still there), especially on muddy terrain like this. The time spent in the air wouldn't be particularly long, and given that Gigue activated the armor while already airborne, he likely wouldn't have time to instinctively re-position his feet after it deactivated. While landing on his face would be a bit of an exaggeration, he would certainly stumble and possibly trip up upon landing. If Vordak wants to edit and has stated the nature of his edit OOC, then I'm fine with that, so long as [@MelonHead] has no objection to the revisions proposed.
