“Ah, yes, that does seem to be the case,” Victor grunted as he set his fork down and adjusted his position so he could face her a bit. He unabashedly ogled her for a moment before grabbing his mug and taking another hearty gulp. He was beginning to feel the effects of the rum, calming his nerves a bit, which made him feel like himself again temporarily. He had finished his dinner and found himself feeling quite adventurous, so he shot up abruptly and signaled for Alice to follow him. When she obliged, they nonchalantly made their way out of the dining room out to the back of the building. A large ladder scaled the side of the cobblestone building reaching up to the rooftop. “Aye, you first. I shall catch you if you fall,” he said calmly as he held the base of it firmly. Once they both reached the roof top, Vic went to the edge and sat down, feet dangling off, and he patted the ground next to him to tell her to sit with him. “I know this must be very unladylike, and I do apologize, but you must have a little fun, Miss Rohan.” He chuckled as he grabbed the bottle he put in the breast of his shirt and took a swig. He overlooked the town below them and sighed at the sight - things were so simple on Isla Imorda. Much simpler than the sea. Or the port. His mind went back to the port and he nearly winced at the thought. He knew he would have to discuss it with Alice eventually, given how heated the table had gotten. “Alice,” he started softly, meeting her green gaze, “I know I must seem like a broken record, but I want you to know you will remain safe no matter what my crew and I decide. What I had said when I took you on board is what I will stand by, although I have not been the perfect gentleman.” This made him laugh; the things he wanted to do to Alice were certainly not gentleman-like. He sighed again and looked back out at the horizon, smelling the salty air and offering the bottle of rum to her. “You shall be home soon, love. Your father will want you back no matter what decision I make. You know that, right?”
