Takeyoshi Sakujima- 図書館で勉強する The next few days passed by in a flash for Takeyoshi; by some miracle, the tengu had managed to find what he had hoped to; a library dedicated to the collection of information. Given the current 'feel' of the era from what he had encountered thus far, the logical solution that he had come to was that... Well, the standard for literacy was probably all over the place. Without things like the printing press (as far as he saw, most of the works were copied by hand), it only made sense... Which made finding this place all the more important to him. Left mostly untouched as the years went by, the old couple looking over the place managed to keep most of the works in what seemed to be pretty good condition. A small amount of conversation later, he found that this library was left unvisited, for the most part. Being his usual goal-oriented self (and being an oddity for even stepping into the library in the first place), Takeyoshi asked to be taught the written language of the Celestial Empire. They seemed to oblige. Of course, knowledge wouldn't mean anything without a meal on the table, and though he had spent the last few days feverishly reading over texts and digging up as much information as he could about the world as a whole. Most of the texts seemed to be historical in nature, which he didn't particularly mind; the lack of practical texts, however, did bug him. Also the fact that he had to be a member of a certain religion to get anywhere. Damn his old atheist tendencies! ... Well, he could probably pass it off well enough, so long as there wasn't anything like mandatory church service. Screw that. The sudden growling of his stomach reminded him of the problem at hand once more, though; the old couple had been kind enough to give both him and Miyu meals every day, but Takeyoshi hated the issue of debt looming over his head. If there was anything he wanted to avoid like the plague, it was debt. Surely, he'd have to pay them back for everything in the future; such good Samaritans deserved as much. The sudden appearance of that damn ol' popup window straight out of a game pulled him back to reality, though; a bunch of quests came up, just as the first one had. Scanning them over, Takeyoshi began to mumble to himself. "Hrm... Dungeon, turf wars, extermination, and exorcism... Not getting involved in gang fights and management, no combat skills to speak of, incorporeality plus bodies piling up... Seems like the only way we're getting funds is through a dungeon run. Miyu's gonna be all the firepower until I can find some magic tomes or something to learn off of, though..." It truly was a miracle, his ability. Learning the language of the Celestial Empire was easier--much easier--than he had expected. Being a phonetic language made it a tad easier, though the words still felt weird coming out of his mouth as he was trying to flip back and forth between the languages and sentence structures in his head. Learning a language in a matter of days was in and of itself a miracle, but he certainly wasn't going to complain about that. "Miyu, you wanna go for the dungeon? It seems to be the fastest route to some money without having to loot rotting corpses, it seems," he remarked, picking up another scroll off of the pile next to him and beginning to scan it over.
