...should be see as your own admission that this plan isn't possible in the scope you are requesting. We might get there, but it'll take multiple generations at best. Kicking and screaming. That's the only way anything ever happens. 

In the case of a smartphone, you're talking about something that is sold on it's function, and requires absolutely no other commitment from the average person then their paying for their smart phone. The smartphone isn't synergistic - it's a product.
