In order to avoid a conflict of interests I will not comment on the ongoing debate, however I would like to point out that it is very much your obligation to ensure your opponent is aware of what is happening. I often find myself sinking into this pit as well. However roleplaying is a collaborative game at its core and expecting someone else to collaborate blindfolded is bad form.
