Maleficent's mention of his late wife did nothing to make the Elvenking any more trustworthy of her. "You know nothing of her." he growled quietly, though he did gesture for the guards to release Maleficent, as it seemed that she was far more agreeable than her dwarven counterpart. Such considerations were enough to lure him back down from the throne, to stand and face Maleficent again, but not before Thorin was long out of his sight down in the dungeons with the other dwarves. "If you have any sense left in you, you will not mention my aunt again." Mel hissed into Maleficent's ear as the guards left the fae beside Thranduil's niece. It was not meant as a hostility towards the fae, but more as a sharp and quick warning before Thranduil got too close to them again. Mel knew the Elvenking as well as the prince did, she had been there when his wife had died, and watched him fall apart afterwards, then try to pick up the pieces and hide it from their people, whom he still had to protect from the growing sickness in the forest. Since then they had spoken very little of the late Queen, especially not in the king's presence, for it made him very angry and upset.
