For once Riley was feeling optimistic about everything, she had a friend, a potential plan and a new place to visit, not forgetting the meal that Ellie basically just offered to buy for the two of them, in many ways it was like winning the homeless lottery and Riley was over the moon, which was in many ways rather apparent, considering that each step she was taking had a certain bounce to it, as well as the smug little smile that remained on her lips as she focused her eyes upon Ellie as she walked in reverse, the radiant blue sky gazing down upon them. Giggling slightly at Ellie's walking antic's and care-free attitude she'd spot the Baker Diner in the distance behind Ellie, adequately named the BarnWood Diner, fitting, although she was no stranger to the diner, considering that she found herself eating out of there during her first days in Baker and remembering the god awful omelette that she ate there, besides the weird looking truckers and local hicks it wasn't too bad. Focusing back towards Ellie's eyes, walking alongside the road she'd blink softly at her question, rolling her shoulders and letting out a small giggles. "Uuuh, I dunno, favourite music?- Celebrity crushes? Movies? Sports?" She'd ask with an amused look on her face, brushing her hair away from her eyes as the wind from the cars interfered. As she'd continue to converse with Ellie she'd follow her into the Diner, as usual and expected the Diner was playing god awful 60's music which reminded you of just how old this diner probably was. The place was reasonably busy, but it was rather clear that the two girls were the youngest ones around for miles. Many of the grizzly old men, many of them potentially hunters, truckers, Drug Dealers, Travellers or even Mafia were there, behind the counter was a woman in her 50's, dark brown hair, rather butch and stern, she looked like a mechanic more than anything but Riley knew her as Mary, she owned the diner and on occasion offered free water and left-overs for Riley. Upon entry Riley would look to Ellie, noticing that several of the older, creepy looking men were eyeing the two of them. "Uh..Let's.. Just Gget something to eat.. then.. not pick the creepiest looking dude in here, okay?" She'd say in a low voice, raising the corner of her mouth with raised eyebrows to show comedic concern. Without trying to bring a whole lot of attention to herself, Mary quickly brought an end to that. "Riley! I thought I told you, no more free fo-" Mary would shout out before being cut short. "M..Mary.. Mary.. My friend and I have money, chill." She'd say with a rather embarrassed look on her face, the entire diner taking directly interest and turning heads. Riley would roll her eyes, perching herself down upon the nearest stool and turning to look for Ellie to join next to her. "Ah.. Right.. Well, pick whatever you want." Mary would say, sliding two menu's over towards the girls as Riley would cover her face, looking rather embarrassed and taking in a deep breath, making it rather apparent that she didn't like attention, turning her head to focus upon Ellie's face, offering a half smile of reassurance. "Yeah.. That's Mary.. She uh.. We have history." She'd say quietly, letting out an awkward giggle before focusing upon the menu.
