Joel isn't a teen. He's a retired Silver Generation hero (in his early-to-mid sixties I imagine). Also Joel isn't my main character, Max (Joel's grandson) is.

[@Raijinslayer] And Joel would have it in [i]his[/i] head that as long as he's got good people around him as a positive influence, the kid [i]surely[/i] will become a good egg. And no, I don't see him exactly being bestest best friends with Max, but I do at least see them having enough of an albeit complicated bond that they'll have each others' backs when it counts.
