His parents were Sarah and Joseph Rogers. His father was an abusive drunkard. He eventually drank himself to death when Steve was a young child. However Steve still remembers his father's rage and how he'd beat his mother. Sarah tried to be a good mother. What she lacked in self-esteem she made up for in love. She took care of Steve and made sure there was always food on the table. However her own health suffered. When she contracted pneumonia when Steve was in his teens, she wasn't strong enough to fight it and died. Steve battled constantly with his sickly body. He was shorter than average and stick thin. He also had asthma and anemia and other conditions that made life nearly impossible. Despite his health Steve would go onto college. He ended up with a fine arts major specializing in illustration. His goal was to be a comic book artist. Or it was until the second World War broke out. Steve watched his fellow classmates get drafted day after day. But never him. He knew why, because of his health. But he didn't want to accept it. He wanted to fight for his country.

Steve began trying to enlist. He did so multiple times. And he was rejected each and every time because of his health. However his multiple attempts did flag the military and U.S. Army General Chester Phillips was assigned the case. General Phillips was in charge of "Project: Rebirth", the super-soldier project. The General took Steve in the Army in order to include him in the Project. While in preparation for the procedure, Steve ended up meeting the man behind the idea: Dr. Josef Reinstein. Though Steve learned later that Dr. Reinstein was an alias for Abraham Erskine. Erskine was a defector from Germany. The experiment was a success! It turned Steve Rogers into a super soldier. Gone was the stricken, frail boy that General Phillips had picked up. And in his place was tall, masculine, Super Soldier. Of course the Allies were busy patting themselves on their successes. They were talking about expanding the program. Until the fateful day at the good doctor was assassinated!

After the assassination of Dr. Erskine, the Americans were more than happy to sweep the entire program under the rug. So willing in fact they gave Steve Rogers the code name Captain America, sent him to Camp Lehigh, VA where he posed as a clumsy infantry private, and told him they'd disavow all knowledge of the Project. His regiment was the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment "Blue Spaders". As an infantry man he had the same uniform and gear as befitting of his rank. As Captain America, the story was different. He wore a patriotic uniform, a bullet proof triangular shield (also patriotic) and a side arm. It wasn't until later that Cap received his iconic circular shield made of steel and vibranium. When he gets his circular shield he also leaves off using his gun, finding the shield far more accurate and useful. Of course such a ruse didn't last very long and he was soon discovered by a James "Bucky" Barnes. Bucky was a brand new recruit and as green as they could be. But the guy excelled at blackmail. If he was to keep Captain America's secret identity a secret if James could join the Captain's Team, the Invaders. The Invaders fought all sort of villains. Some of the worst were Red Skull, Baron Zemo and Strucker. Of course they also fought villains who weren't as world threatening. They might have seemed ridiculous, but they were still a threat. During his time at Camp Lehigh, Steve meets and falls in love with a young woman named Peggy. A leggy, blonde American who lived in the area. They were deeply in love even after she was shipped off to live with her Aunt and Uncle. The remained in secret communication until Steve never returned. The events leading up to Steve's apparent death were rather convoluted. Needless to say that the Invaders weren't able to help Steve and Bucky fight Baron Zemo and disarm the missile the Baron had primed. Steve alone attacked the Baron, not realizing Bucky was on the missile. The three of them ended on said missile as it flew over the ocean. Steve and Bucky sabotaged the missile and all three were plunged into the ocean.

Steve Rogers, under the name Captain America, and his friend Bucky were declared MIA and later, dead. It wasn't until the year 2013 that Steve was discovered by Lex Luthor. Lex thaws him and discovered that Captain America was still alive! Lex helped Steve adjust to the future and gave him a position on his newly formed Justice League. Steve accepted and moved into the JL's Headquarters. Ironically in Lex's building.
Supporting Cast:

Allies:
James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes
Steve's best friend in the war and the only line level soldier to know Steve's true identity. He found Steve, gave him a home and purpose. Basically, Lex is now Tony in their interactions. But with a lot less friction. So, Pre-Civil War relationship basically.
Barry Allen Batman Natasha Romanova Scott Lang Carol Danvers Arthur Curry Thor Odinson

How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?: Unlike the MCU and most media involving Captain America and his "Icy Tomb" Cap didn't fight Red Skull. It was Baron Zemo. And that's who I used. I also edited out the part were other men wore the Captain America mantle after Steve "Died". A lot of my Cap uses the 616 back story which if you're not familiar with it seems very different. But the MCU added and tweaked a lot. So if that's your basis, this will make you go "But wait! That's not how it goes!" But that was how it went. With Peggy, I kept her origins and appearance. But I didn't care for the whole "I got injured and lost my memory". Way too soap opera. So I changed it to her parents didn't like her cavorting with military men and shipped her away. (This isn't a Korean Drama!) As for Steve and Tony, I transferred a lot of Cap's feelings and thought process to Lex. Because Lex pretty much takes the place of Tony in this world. Because of that I doubt Tony and Steve have any relationship at all.
