Devon & Pent
Making their way past a group of three who were heading into the lab, Pent turned his head with a worried expression crossing his features. "I do hope they're able to make it in time…" Shinon looked over at the passing group with deeply furrowed brows. Softly, he communicated to his Trainer, One of them has a deeply troubling aura... The crippled professor grew worried, letting soft words escape his lips, "A troubling aura..." The Lucario nodded slowly. It may or may not be a concern... though... hmmm... Shinon cut off his projected thoughts, now withdrawing into himself. Waving off the concern with his free hand, Pent chuckled nervously. "Oh, well, he says this quite a lot. You know, there are many who have dark pasts, or impure hearts. Most of the time, nothing comes of it. Just because the potential is there, does not necessarily mean someone will act on it..." Devon nodded at Pent and Shinon’s observations, taking a brief glance at Missy floating near him with a smile. "That's true. Missy had a rough life before she met up with me and another friend of ours, but she’s a much better person now. Right Missy?" The Mismagius near Devon's shoulder looked off into the blue sky beyond them, lost in thoughts of the past. Bringing up a smile, a soft bit of laughter escaped Missy's red mouth as she looked over the group. A warm smile distorted Pent's previous expression as his eyes went from Devon, to Missy. "I am certainly glad to hear that. While we were making our way here from the airport, Shinon did mention something about Missy, though... her aura is nowhere near as..." A frown crossed his brow. Taking one last worried glance, Pent started down the steps, and made his way into New Amber Town. Looking around, his brows furrowed as he examined the area. "Perhaps I interpreted your map incorrectly, but from what I could tell, it's impossible to make it to the ruins directly from here without traveling at least a portion of the region. I believe there was a mountain range as well as a river that would make direct travel impossible. It seems we would need to travel south to Vertigo City... and from there I do not remember the names of the cities..." Devon reached down into his pocket, pulling forth his blue Pokégear and flipping it open to see the map of Viore. Eyes running across it, he spoke with a frown. "Shoot. Looks like it. If we wanted to get to any ruins, we'd need to go to Sahara City that’s way at the back Viore... Wait! Got something else!" It was then when Shinon heard loud noises coming from inside of the lab. Turning around, the Lucario's fur stood on end, and his aura-sensing appendages began to float upwards. After a few more moments, he held out his arm and closed his eyes. Opening them, Shinon immediately turned to Devon's Mismagius, Missy. Knowing the Lucario's instincts were spot on, Missy hurried over to Devon, quickly phasing herself through his backpack, and returning herself to her Poké Ball. Still alert, the Lucario continued to track several different auras before noting that the group inside was splitting in two, one of them heading their way. Pent's gaze turned to the vehicle as Maple honked the truck's horn, his eyes following as it took off. Once the truck was out of sight, the pair of Trainers began their trek towards Vertigo City. Though not entirely comfortable with the situation, Shinon pressed onward, following along with the rest of the group.
