Ignia "Imouto-chan" Nosfera & Ethel "9/10" Cilente "Onee-Chan"
Ignia's challenge had been accepted. Now here she was, taking a Duel Runner onto the main track. Fighting someone who was probably most likely stronger then she was. It wasn't a Shadow Duel though, so she would probably be fine if she lost. Either way she was pushing the bike wondering what Ethel was doing. Her mind was still more so focused on the card she picked up earlier. Ethel was waiting at the starting line, blue helm obscuring most of her hair and pushing the rest down against her neck. She was resting with one leg on the floor and holding her Duel Runner to the side with the other. She had been assigned a blue modelled ALPHA frame, a W shaped one. It had a sharp triangle resting above the wheels of the front, lowering down into the dashboard and Hybrid disk. Its handlebars jut out the side, and a little behind the frame bumped up agand. The seat was located in the third lower part, making the rider having to bend over to the front for effective steering. The tail has a sharp angle back up again, with the seat being a little extended for those with longer legs. The second wheel was located underneath the tail. The runner's light blue colour scheme had a few neon green striped mixed in, and the dashboard was a deep purple. Its rider noticed the scraping of wheels, looking over her shoulder to see Ignia approaching from afar. "You're slow." Ehtel commented, having been waiting for a little while. Overall, her runner wasn't spectacular, but also wasn't bad either. Ignia moved her Story-like Duel runner until it was aligned with Ethels, the difference between the two runners was extremely apparent. Ignias was more artistic, more well storylike then some of the others she had seen when she was walking up to this point. Either way her Duel Runner was starting to grow on her. Even if she lost again Ethel it would still be a good thing cause she got to ride her Duel Runner. Her ego may die but her spirit shall never crumble. Either way, Ignia put on her helmet which she had been carrying in the opposite hand to the one pushing the duel runner. She already had her deck placed inside the armband on her wrist. Pulling the helmet down on her head it pushed most of her hair out of her eyes and down the back of her neck, though you could see the odd black hair strands on her face through the helmet. Now Ignia had something to address, "Well sorry 9/10, can't be as fast as you are." Ignia said, occidentally falling back into her common habit. Almost instantly regretting it too. Ethel looked unamused at Ignia's comment, a frown forming from underneath the helmet. "I have a name." she retorted, then looked straight ahead. Or, better said, down at her dashboard. A few buttons were on it, and one in particular was of relevance right now. "Let's start." Ethel commanded Ignia, swiftly tapping the button. "Speed World II - Activate!" she called. A holographic image of the card showed up on the screen, but the spell couldn't activate until it found an opponent. "Sorry, Ethel!" Ignia quickly responded as she got on her bike looking, down at the dashboard in a manner similiar to the blue haired one. Ignia's emerald green eyes scanned over each button and taking in the location of each one. It seemed like Ethel was in a bit of a rush though so Ignia decided to be brisker then usually about the whole affair. You can't keep a friend waiting, or at least something you think is a friend. "I agree with that, let's get this show on the road! Quite literally, in fact." Ignia said as she tapped a button, trying to ignore the slightly commanding tone of the person she looked up to. "Speed World II - Activate!" Ignia shouted as the spell appeared on the screen. A shockwave eminated from the two girls' Duel Runners, and the entire area got dyed purple. The field was now dominated by Speed World II, and a holographic countdown showed up in front of them. Ten unlit lights and a red one showed when both of them needed to drive. The countdown started, each light individually flickering on with slight delay as both runners' automated voices rang with 'Duel Mode on - Auto Pilot Standby'. As soon as the lights hit ten, both of their runners flared up and they shouted: "Turbo Duel accelerate!"
Turn 1: Ethel Ethel: 4000 LP 5 cards in hand, 1 Speed Counter Ignia: 4000 LP 5 cards in hand, 1 Speed Counter With Ethel knowing how to get a perfect start of the engine, she had easely managed to pull ahead of Ignia and round the corner first. "My turn!" she shouted. The wind was rushing past Ethel and the cool breeze tingled on her face. A slight twitch came across her mouth, obviously not used to these high speeds. "I summon Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius." Ethel declared, swiping one card from her armband and slamming it down onto the duel disk. A blue vortex opened up next to her, with a camo green mechanized bird flying out of it. Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius: 1300 ATK 1600 DEF Level 4 DARK Winged Beast "Vanishing Lanius lets me Special Summon Raidraptor - Mimicry Lanius." Vanishing cried out into the ether, and from above a new bird descended. It had a gold-and-blue color scheme, with some weird circular tail thing on it's back. Raidraptor - Mimicry Lanius: 1100 ATK 1900 DEF Level 4 DARK Winged Beast "I now overlay my Level 4 Raidraptors!" the girl continued, a black vortex opening up in front of her. The two birds changed into pulsating purple lines, jumping into the overlay network. "When your riches are threatened, protect your home. Xyz Summon! Rank 4, Diamond Dire Wolf!" A bright flash of light exploded from the vortex, and a blue wolf with gemstones for a body was now running along the road next to Ethel's Duel Runner. Diamond Dire Wolf: 2000 ATK 1200 DEF Rank 4 EARTH Beast/2 OL "I set two cards and end my turn." Ethel swiped down two more cards, and now it was Ignia's turn to impress. Turn 2: Ignia Ethel: 4000 LP 1 card in hand, 1 Monster, 2 S/T 2 Speed Counters Ignia: 4000 LP 6 cards in hand, 2 Speed Counters Ignia had watched Ethel pull ahead not in just speed but also in monster strength, The blue gemstone of a wolf running along side Ethel not only convoked feelings of envy from Ignia but also made Ethel seem to eminate a sort of feral aura or maybe it was just the Wolf. Either way Ignia began her turn. "I draw!" She said as she drew from her deck and placed the card in the holder. "I summon Jowgen the Spiritualist," Ignia said as she placed the card onto the Solid Vision projecter of a Duel Disk. A blue vortex appeared in front of her as a scholarly looking fellow appeared. "I now activate Jowgens effect," as a random card was aborted out of her hand. Turned out the card was Speed spell Magical Mallet. Ethel was unimpressed by Ignia's move, finding the girl to be Naïve for expecting her not to be prepared. "Trap activate: Breakthrough skill. Your card is wasted and effect negated." Ethel explained, still riding ahead. She looked back. "Do not underestimate me! A serious duelist is always prepared." Ignia grimaced. "I set two cards face down" She said as she ended her turn. "My other face down! Dust Tornado." Ethel declared. "I'll destroy the first set card." The speed spell - Summon Speeder was lifted up by the dust tornado and destroyed in a flurry of feathers. Turn 3: Ethel Ethel: 4000 LP 2 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 3 Speed Counters Ignia: 4000 LP 2 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 1 S/T 3 Speed Counters "My turn." Ethel spoke in monotone, swiftly swiping one card and exposing it to the wind. She smiled when she saw what it was. "I summon my Blackwing - Breeze the Zephyr." A little orange and gold humanoid bird flapped its wings and landed on Diamond Dire Wolf's back, because it couldn't keep up with the speed. Blackwing - Breeze the Zephyr: 1100 ATK 300 DEF Level 3 DARK Winged Beast Tuner "I detach one Overlay Unit from my Diamond Dire Wolf." Ethel declared, Mimicry Lanius going to the graveyard as one of Wolf's brown orbs splashed open on its chest. "I destroy my Breeze The Zephyr and your Facedown card." Diamond Dire Wolf roared, and both the facedown and Zephyr went up in dust. Diamond Dire Wolf OL 2 > 1 The Card Fragmented into a spectrum of colours as 6 spirits escaped the card. Their it lay the cornerstone of Ignias strategy, dead, dying, gone. Unpossessed fragmented into blue sparks. Ethel sighed as she was what card just went up in flames, now fully aware of what Ignia is playing. "You did know what you were getting into when you decided to duel me, didn't you?" she asked the black haired girl, her crimson eyes filtered through the blue vizor glass. She forced her duel runner on its side and slid along the road, yelling "Diamond Dire Wolf! Kill that monster!". A sort of sick satisfaction lit up in Ethel's eyes when she did, and the wolf let out a mighty roar. It rushed forward, pouncing on Jowgen and destroying it in the process. Ignia LP 4000 > 2200 Ethel turned her Duel Runner back onto a normal angle and drove in front again. "I activate my Mimicry Lanius' effect. When it is sent to the graveyard this turn, I can banish it and add one Raidraptor card from my deck to my hand. I choose my Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius." One card jutted out of Ethel's deck, and she neatly put it in her armband. "Turn end." Turn 4: Ignia Ethel: 4000 LP 2 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 4 Speed Counters Ignia: 2200 LP 3 cards in hand, 4 Speed Counters Ignia drew from her deck looking at the card that had so gracefully given itself to her. Perhaps she might actually stand a ghost of a chance. "I summon Familiar Possessed - Wynn in attack position," Ignia said as a green haired woman appeared in front of her. She was flanked by a green serpentine dragon. She seemed to be a little more then pissed at Ethel for attacking her master. Either way Ignia still wasn't finished. "I activate the effect of the Inari Fire in my hand, allowing me to special summon it!" Ignia said as she threw down the card onto the duel disk. In a flash of blue light, a fox with deep crimson red and orange fur started running beside her in ATK position. "I shall finish by setting one card and ending my turn" Ignia said as she ended and waited for the end to come. Turn 5: Ethel Ethel: 4000 LP 3 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 5 Speed Counters Ignia: 2200 LP 0 cards in hand, 2 Monsters, 1 S/T 5 Speed Counters "My turn. Draw." Ethel announced, looking over at the card she drew. She had to click her tongue at it, knowing it's not useful at the moment. "I normal summon Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius." Ethel played. Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius: 1300 ATK 1600 DEF Level 4 DARK Winged Beast "I detach one Overlay Unit and destroy two cards." Ethel continued, Diamond Dire Wolf roaring again. It blew up the face-down card and Ethel's own Vanishing Lanius. Diamond Dire Wolf OL 1 > 0 Time seemed to slow for Ignia, It seemed like everything was moving at a fraction of a second. The game was lost no matter what she did, She could bounce it back but then fuzzy would just bring it back. The Wolf was too much, her deck was too slow, and Ethel was leagues ahead of her. What did people call this? An unpassable obstacle. Ignia was lost inside her mind. Though she may have been hallucinating in this moment of clarity, Ignia could swear that Wyrnn was moving at a normal speed while everything else was slowed. The card was still fragmenting, The wolf was in the middle of roaring. Yet Wyrnn seemed to be unafffected. The monster literally turned its head to face her. Staring at her Emerald eyes with her own green slit pupils. No words were exchanged, nor did they really have to be. Wyrnn had the look of trust in her eyes. As if to say, 'The game is lost, but I, no we, will not abandon you'. This was probably Ignia trying to reassure herself. Or perhaps it wasn't but either way things started to speed up again. Ignia's look of absoulete dread replaced by something a little more complacent and ready to accept what was happening. Spiritual Wind Art Miyabi Fragmented into blue sparks. Yet Ignia just smiled. It was still worth it in the end. Ethel looked surprised at which card wound up destroyed, and even a little disappointed. "Hmph. Diamond Dire Wolf, Kill Inari Fire." Ethel commanded, not even looking back at ignia. The wolf rushed forward again, sliding and smacking its tail into the small little fox. Ignia LP 2200 > 1700 "I set one card and end my turn." Turn 6: Ignia Ethel: 4000 LP 1 card in hand, 1 Monster, 1 Set S/T, 6 Speed Counters Ignia: 1700 LP 1 card in hand, 1 Monster, 6 Speed Counters Ignia blinked maybe she still had a inkling of a chance "I draw" Ignia said as she drew from the deck. Perhaps she had a shot. "I set one card face down and I end my turn" Ignia said as she ended. Turn 7: Ethel Ethel: 4000 LP 2 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 1 Set S/T, 7 Speed Counters Ignia: 1700 LP 0 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 1 Set S/T, 7 Speed Counters "My turn. Draw." Ethel spoke in a monotone, and was surprised at what the card was she drew. "I activate the Speed Spell - Shift Down." Ethel declared, slamming a card into her disk as the Duel Runner suddenly lost a lot of speed and started to trail behind Ignia. "I remove six speed counters and draw." the girl explained, drawing two cards and looking over them. And then she smiled. "Finally." she mumbled, then turned her gaze back to Ignia. "I normal summon the tuner Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North." was the first thing Ethel did, and then Breeze the Zephyr soon joined Blizzard on the field in Defense position. Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North: 1300 ATK 0 DEF Level 2 DARK Winged Beast Tuner Blackwing - Breeze the Zephyr: 1100 ATK 300 DEF Level 3 DARK Winged Beast Tuner "I special Summon Kris - The crack of Dawn." the girl continued her assault, follwoing it up by a blue feathered bird brandishing a knife looking at Ignia with a maniacal grin. "I tune my level two Blizzard to my Level four Kris!" she declared, both of them flying on ahead. Blizzard turned into two, futuristic looking green rings as Kris passed through them. Four stars is what Kris turned into, before a beam of white engulfed the inside. "Spread your Jet-Black wings and dominate the night sky! Crush the opposition with overwhelming force! Synchro Summon, Level 6! Blackwing - Nothung the Starlight!" Ethel chanted, and from the brilliance, a black-winged bird man did indeed fly through. They had a gigantic blade clutched tightly in their right hand, looking down at Ignia through it's purple helm. "Just before this little escapade continues can I just interject one final thing?" Ignia began as she flipped over a card that wouldn't change the game and wouldn't affect it in any way shape or form. "I activate Unpossessed, 'cause it would criminal not to." Ignia said as she activated the pointless card. Ignia just sat their happy and content that her Wynn at least got to feel the strength of her friends. Ethel's eye twitched at this pointless charade. "Nothung the Starlight reduces you monster's attack and defense by 800, and also deals that amount of damage to you. Black Shockwave!" the girl announced, Nothung swinging it's giant blade once and having its beam crash right into Wynn, crippling the poor waif and her pet. The surge of energy continued down the track, slamming into Ignia's Duel Runner as well. Familiar - Posessed Wynn ATK 1850 > 1050 Ignia LP 1700 > 900 "Battle. Nothung, Kill Wynn and end this duel." Ethel declared, holding her hand forward in command. Nothung silently obliged to its master's wishes, flying forward faster with its blade hanging overhead. As Nothung came hurtling forwards towards Wynn, Her familiar did a noble thing and leapt in front of the blade, taking the largest brunt of the impact. It left Wrynn with a less serious injury but she still had a large cut along her chest instead of full on impalement. Instead of bursting into Blue sparks like all the other cards. Wynn just slowly faded away into feathers smiling as the field spell began to fade. Perhaps she just reflected Ignias mood. Even a loser gets fun out of losing, specially if they have a card like that. Ignia's bike slowed to a halt because of the safety measures as her LP hit 0. Ignia LP 900 > 0
WINNER: ETHEL!

Ethel saw in the corner of her helmet that Ignia's LP trickled down to 0, while she hadn't lost a single one. Though the girl wasn't entirely satisfied. That duel... It could have been more. Ethel felt the wind rush past her get less intense from before as her bike lowered speed, completing one more lap before driving back next to Ignia. Taking off her helmet, Ethel freed those long locks of blue hair to the natural wind and turned her head back to Ignia. "Why didn't you activate Miyabi?" she asked, feeling something was up. Ignia's bike had stopped. The very first thing she did was quickly search for Wynn in her deck. There she was, all safe and sound. Taking off her helmet, Ignia shaked her head wondering if what she saw was real at all. Aside from the fact that had never happened to her before, Ignia began to question what was so special about her cards. What happened in that duel was probably the strangest thing that happened to her since coming here. Either way Ignia needed to stop delving into her own fantasies. "You ask why I didn't activate Miyabi? Well, maybe if I had a chance to get out of that corner I would have done so." Ignia said with the intellectual voice back. Trying to keep a little quiet on the epiphany she experienced. Ethel wasn't content wit that answer. What was she babbling on about? A duelist should never pass up the chance to win. "You did have one." Ethel curtly replied, picking up the set card still inside of the Duel Disk. Showing it to Ignia, she could see is was just Speed Spell - Double Summon. "I was bluffing. If you had removed Diamond Dire Wolf, I couldn't get it back." The girl was disappointed in her 'Friend'. She didn't know they were this weak. Granted, drawing Kris and Blizzard made Ethel win anyway but there wasn't a way to know what. For all intents and purposes, Ignia could have won to her knowledge. Ignia noticed Ethel's disappointment, of course Ignia was also a little disappointed but what can you do. The ruler of the skies would just decimate the mortal domain, for now at least.Yet Ignia saw the card that Ethel had set. In the end it didn't matter what it was, with Nothung next turn. "In the end though Ethel, you would have drawn Nothung's materials and won so, I thought it was better I actually had a monster left than nothing at all." Ignia said almost monotone. Slightly beginning to question this friendship. Ethel let out a sight in reply. 'Course she would think that. "...Do not hesitate to seize chances. You'll never catch up otherwise." the girl warned Ignia, crimson eyes staring without hesitation into the other girl's emerald ones. "I said I'd help you get stronger. And I will." they promised, putting on the helm again. Reaching forwards, Ethel grasped the handlebars and accelerated to take off back into the building. Winning with all you have is all that should be important. Ethel pondered over whilst leaving Ignia in the dust. Ignia had been left behind, Ethel's words slowly sinking into her mind. The words made sense, she needed to not hesitate anymore. Perhaps Ethel was a good person at heart, or maybe they just like to be complimented because they are egostical. Ignia smirked to herself at that little thought. Either way Ethel was a valuable friend who's head was rightly screwed on their shoulders. Putting her hands behind her head in a relaxing posture, Ignia began to wonder if their was quite possibly a way to summon all 6 charmers at once. It was a stupid idea, there was only 5 slots for monsters. Still the future looked pretty bright, or maybe that was the sun burning her retinas. Ignia began pushing her bike towards the building feeling more relaxed then when she first got here.
