Anthony's eyes flicker open as the equatorial sun begins to scorch his skin. He sits up in the boat, hand against his head and brings it down to find partially dried blood smeared against it. He groans as he slowly stands up and looks around, finding himself on the beach of an island that he hadn't seen while still on the boat. His brain addled by the intense heat, he lowers his head toward the ocean water, but remembers just in time that drinking ocean water would do more harm than good. Using what little strength he had left, he drags the lifeboat under the shade of a nearby cluster of trees. He flops into the craft, then searches the emergency supplies and breathes a sigh of relief as he finds some bottled water. He greedily drinks the water, satiating his thirst and soothing his parched throat, then passes out once again.
