I guess it would make sense for this to happen.

Stone Age Person(SAP) meets Magic Stone Age Person(MSAP), SAP loses in fight or something, everyone becomes MSAP or tries to. Now, an army of MSAP probably would not exist, at least for a [i]long[/i] time, so SAP develop to become Copper Age Person(CAP) and so on.
