IMPERIAL PRESS SERVICE WEEKLY

MAY 30 1920

General Demobilization
Last week, his Imperial Majesty Yvor III has issued a decree revoking the factory seizures of Emperor Shayaer's Emergency War Production Act and ordering the transfer of some eighty-thousand Surv-Akur personnel from active duty to reservist status. Though some naysayers have accused the Sword of Aed of showing weakness, we at the Imperial Press Service commend the Emperor's wisdom in attending to the needs of the people. A just Emperor must know when to wage war and when to seek peace, all for the good of his Empire and his subjects. Soldiers will return home to their families, production will serve the masses, and the Grand Survaek Empire will know peace-time once again. Essenheim in particular is considered "a necessary partner for Survaekom economic and strategic security," state the designated envoy to Essenheim, Foreign Councilor Yvael Hurdu. Furthermore, Foreign Minister Aedis Haerk himself has been sent to establish relations with the young Empire of Veria, former protectorate of the Grand Survaek Empire under his former Majesty Shayaer Khaitis. The Foreign Ministry Office has expressed high hopes about this visit, stating that "Independent Veria will doubtless be a better friend to the Grand Empire than it was as a vassal, now that it can harness its full industrial, agricultural, and military potential. Survaek, under the wise administration of our new Emperor, is willing to make amends for any former misjudgments in the name of mutual prosperity, should the Verians give us the opportunity. Aed willing, cooperation between our nations may flourish and bring us all a brighter future." Another special mission, under Deputy Foreign Minister Huj Veliu, seeks to bring us closer to another young Tervasan nation, Laevatia. He expressed the importance of "trade and good relations with the realm at the crossroads between Tervasa and Centran," citing "common interests and goals" in keeping Tervasa strong against "potential Centran aggression."
Emperor Holds Historic Council
In the wake of the many turmoils that plagued Survaek during the war, his Imperial Majesty Yvor III is holding a Great Council with the many parties, unions, mutual aid societies, and guilds that have expressed popular grievances over the last many years. Such a Council was recommended by the advisors of his former Majesty Shayaer, but the proposal was rejected due to war priorities. But now, with peace upon us once again, the forward-thinking Emperor has seen fit to resolve the issues these many organizations have brought to the table. Organizations of note invited to the Council are the Survaekom Workers' Front, the Free Peasants' Guild, the Raethonite Restoration Party, the Republican Party of Survaek, and the Survaekom Friendly Society. With the Crown's hand extended to these and other groups in the Empire, it is now upon them to accept the invitation to resolve their grievances in good order through negotiation.
