Yet those that would place these labels on to them have never wondered... Perhaps they were not all human to begin with? Centuries before humans rose to power, magic filled the world it's creatures fought and battled constantly. Beings with god-like power forged creatures and culled continents of life. This was the first age of magic, dragons awoke and ended the age in there wisdom. They made the Gods retreated to the heavens, the immortal races retreat deep in to their homelands as the world split apart to keep the peace and give them each domains. With an end to all that violence the dragons slept, humans arose and began to wander the Earth they made tools forged homes and weapons. Some began to learn from the magic that lingered along the world they changed rocks to tree's, mended flesh and bone, and some even began to learn the secrets of flight. Those that discovered these powers awakened something in their blood, a primal magic that they carry inside of them. These humans unlike other races could master and control advanced magic naturally. The gods from on high stepped in, choosing champions waking creatures as needed. The second age of magic as gods argued and fought mortals would decide their conflicts. This age would give us great legends and heroic bloodlines like Hercules and Momotaro. Yet humans civilization came and went gods forgotten or simply ignored. As the Roman Empire fell most of the gods waned greatly in power some had even died. Men once again began to master magic on their own, the Dark ages were and onward were the third age of magic. Few could tap into the power that lay in their blood but those who could found powers only they could control. Nicholas Flamel found he could change any object into another, he saw the magical properties hidden in all life around him. Elizabeth Bathory bathed in blood using her magic to stay young for centuries. The end of the third age of magic came to an end late in the nineteenth century dragons awoke briefly seeing how the world had changed use their immense power as well as that of the few remaining gods and the few humans they found they could trust during that time. They gathered the magic in the oldest dragons and let them sleep, they would contain the power as long as they could before they expired and it returned to the world. Enough time for the other dragons and the trusted humans to gather resources and artifacts. They would teach the humans magic and help them to master it, no more gods, or kings, those with the gifted bloodlines would be heralds who would give magic back to the world and keep humans from destroying creatures as they had in past.
-----------
So I thought I should touch a bit on what is acceptable and what isn't. Heroes and villains from folklore and history are fine, however they must be human or human like. You cannot have an ancestor whose a Minotaur or Kitsune, they are not human. If the person your related to could shape change that's fine so long as your standard form is a human. You can be related to those who claim gods as family however not gods themselves. Your bloodline's power base must start before nineteen hundreds. Lastly these powers need to relate to the person, you will learn more magic but your natural talent comes from your family lineage. Feel free to be creative!
Rules: -I am GM my rules stand as law, however I am not a dictator I will listen to idea's and hear out characters and background information before making a judgement. -No fighting in the OOC I've seen this kill roleplays before so you have a problem work it or just agree to disagree. If it goes on in the OOC I will up an end to it. -Discuss things, the OOC exists to be a chat room as much as it exists to converse about the roleplay, it is yours to put things in as much as it is mine. -Keep it PG-13 romance is fine, I expect fighting so violence is okay as well. Just nothing that would seem out of place. Cursing is fine, just keep it acceptable, I mean were talking about high school and college level people there is going to be some swearing.
