By the time Eric was able to go from normal to aflame in about 45 seconds and back to normal in 15, they were called for dinner. He didn't mind at all as he was starving. It seemed as if using his powers burned a lot of calories and skipping lunch didn't help either. As a result he didn't exactly talk wit the others, and not only went for seconds but thirds as well.

When he arrived in his new bedroom he quickly noticed that whoever furnished it for him also included a nightlight. The next day he was shocked to hear they were gonna spar, he hadn't even figured out a safe distance for others when he was on fire never mind any other tricks to avoid hurting someone. At least he wasn't one of the first two to fight, no that "honor" went to the math teacher and Paul as it turned the name of the sizechanger was. To his surprise the teacher ended up winning by wrapping herself her opponent. While he was still wondering why Paul didn't simply shrink again he was revealed to have to fight next.
