[@ReaptheMusic]  If I may intrude for a bit, from a RWBY fan to another, but have you looked at Monty's Color Naming Rule?  In it, he addresses the numerous fan-made RWBY OCs and states that each name in RWBY resembles a color or makes one think of a color.  So while you are correct on Ruby Rose resembling Red Riding Hood, it also calls the color to mind.  While Team RWBY is very obvious at this, JNPR also has its colors, such as Jaun's name resembling jaundice (yellow skin).  I just hopes this makes it easier for you and your team.
